When David reached Ziklag, he sent some of the plunder to the elders of Judah, who were his friends, saying,“ Here is a gift for you from the plunder of the Lord’s enemies.”

When David came to Ziklag, he sent part of the spoil to his friends, the elders of Judah, saying,“ Here is a present for you from the spoil of the enemies of the Lord.”

When he arrived at Ziklag, David sent part of the plunder to the elders of Judah, who were his friends.“ Here is a present for you, taken from the Lord’s enemies,” he said.

因此，我认为必须劝那几位弟兄先到你们那里去，使你们事先筹足从前所答应的捐款。那么，你们这样的准备，就是出于乐意的，不是勉强的。

人的礼物能为他开路，引他到大人物面前。首先陈述情由的，似乎有理，等他的邻舍来到，才可以查明实情。抽签能止息纷争，排解二强之间的纠纷。触怒兄弟，要劝他和解，比取坚城还难；这样的纷争，如同堡垒的门闩。人口中所结的果子，必使自己的肚腹饱足；他嘴里所出的，必使他饱足。生与死都在舌头的权下；爱把弄这权柄的，必自食其果。觅得贤妻的，就是觅得幸福，也是蒙了耶和华的恩宠。穷人乞恩哀求，财主却声色俱厉地回答。朋友众多的人，终必彼此破裂，但有一位朋友，比兄弟更亲密。

你升到高天的时候，掳了许多俘虏；你在人间，就是在悖逆的人当中，接受了礼物，使耶和华神可以与他们同住。

乃缦和他的随员又回到神人那里，他进去，站在他面前，说：“看哪！现在我知道除了在以色列以外，全地都没有神。现在，请你收下你仆人一点礼物吧。”

高尚的人却筹谋高尚的事，他也必坚持这些高尚的事。

大卫因为基士的儿子扫罗的缘故，躲在洗革拉的时候，以下这些人就来到大卫那里；他们都是勇士，在战争中帮助他。他们配备弓箭，能用左右两手开弓甩石射箭；他们都属便雅悯支派，是扫罗的亲族。他们的首领是亚希以谢，其次是约阿施，都是基比亚人示玛的儿子；还有亚斯玛威的儿子耶薛和毗力；又有比拉迦和亚拿突人耶户，以及基遍人以实买雅，他在三十人中是个勇士，并且统领那三十人，又有耶利米、雅哈悉、约哈难和基得拉人约撒拔（“又有耶利米⋯⋯约撒拔”在《马索拉文本》为12:5）、伊利乌赛、耶利摩、比亚利雅、示玛利雅、哈律弗人示法提雅；（本节在《马索拉文本》为12:6）可拉人有以利加拿、耶西亚、亚萨列、约以谢和雅朔班、基多人耶罗罕的儿子犹拉和西巴第雅。迦得支派中，有些人走到旷野的山寨去投奔大卫，他们都是英勇的战士，善于作战，能使用盾牌和长枪；他们的面貌好像狮子，他们敏捷得好像山上的羚羊。第一个是以薛，第二是俄巴底雅，第三是以利押，第四是弥施玛拿，第五是耶利米，第六是亚太，第七是以利业，第八是约哈难，第九是以利萨巴，第十是耶利米，第十一是末巴奈。这些都是迦得支派中的军长，最小的一个能抵挡一百人，最大的一个能抵挡一千人。在正月，约旦河水涨过两岸的时候，这些人过了河，使全平原的人都东奔西逃。
