He led David down, and there they were, scattered over the countryside, eating, drinking and reveling because of the great amount of plunder they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from Judah.

He led David down to where the men were. They were scattered all over the countryside. They were eating and drinking and dancing wildly. That’s because they had taken a large amount of goods from those they had attacked. They had taken it from the land of the Philistines and from the people of Judah.

And when he had taken him down, behold, they were spread abroad over all the land, eating and drinking and dancing, because of all the great spoil they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from the land of Judah.

So he led David to them, and they found the Amalekites spread out across the fields, eating and drinking and dancing with joy because of the vast amount of plunder they had taken from the Philistines and the land of Judah.

So he led him, and there were the Amalekites, spread out over the entire area, eating, drinking, and celebrating because of the great amount of plunder they had taken from the land of the Philistines and the land of Judah.

押沙龍吩咐僕人說：「你們注意，看暗嫩飲酒暢快的時候，我對你們說殺暗嫩，你們便殺他，不要懼怕。這不是我吩咐你們的嗎？你們只管壯膽奮勇！」

人正說「平安穩妥」的時候，災禍忽然臨到他們，如同產難臨到懷胎的婦人一樣，他們絕不能逃脫。

住在地上的人就為他們歡喜快樂，互相餽送禮物，因這兩位先知曾叫住在地上的人受痛苦。過了這三天半，有生氣從神那裏進入他們裏面，他們就站起來；看見他們的人甚是害怕。兩位先知聽見有大聲音從天上來，對他們說：「上到這裏來。」他們就駕着雲上了天，他們的仇敵也看見了。正在那時候，地大震動，城就倒塌了十分之一，因地震而死的有七千人；其餘的都恐懼，歸榮耀給天上的神。

那時候的人又吃又喝，又娶又嫁，到挪亞進方舟的那日，洪水就來，把他們全都滅了。又好像羅得的日子；人又吃又喝，又買又賣，又耕種又蓋造。到羅得出所多瑪的那日，就有火與硫磺從天上降下來，把他們全都滅了。

伯沙撒王為他的一千大臣設擺盛筵，與這一千人對面飲酒。伯沙撒歡飲之間，吩咐人將他父尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷殿中所掠的金銀器皿拿來，王與大臣、皇后、妃嬪好用這器皿飲酒。於是他們把耶路撒冷神殿庫房中所掠的金器皿拿來，王和大臣、皇后、妃嬪就用這器皿飲酒。他們飲酒，讚美金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所造的神。

窺探的人看見一個人從城裏出來，就對他說：「求你將進城的路指示我們，我們必恩待你。」那人將進城的路指示他們，他們就用刀擊殺了城中的居民，但將那人和他全家放去。

他對他們說：「耶和華－以色列的神這樣說：『你們各人把刀跨在腰間，在營中往來，從這門到那門，各人殺他的弟兄與同伴並鄰舍。』」利未的子孫照摩西的話行了。那一天百姓中被殺的約有三千。

我們侵奪了基利提的南方和屬猶大的地，並迦勒地的南方，又用火燒了洗革拉。」

亞比該到拿八那裏，見他在家裏設擺筵席，如同王的筵席；拿八快樂大醉。亞比該無論大小事都沒有告訴他，就等到次日早晨。到了早晨，拿八醒了酒，他的妻將這些事都告訴他，他就魂不附體，身僵如石頭一般。過了十天，耶和華擊打拿八，他就死了。

誰知，人倒歡喜快樂，宰牛殺羊，吃肉喝酒，說：我們吃喝吧！因為明天要死了。

次日清早，百姓起來獻燔祭和平安祭，就坐下吃喝，起來玩耍。

惡人誇勝是暫時的，不敬虔人的喜樂不過轉眼之間嗎？

然後要對我的靈魂說：靈魂哪，你有許多財物積存，可作多年的費用，只管安安逸逸地吃喝快樂吧！』神卻對他說：『無知的人哪，今夜必要你的靈魂；你所預備的要歸誰呢？』

非利士人的首領聚集，要給他們的神大袞獻大祭，並且歡樂，因為他們說：「我們的神將我們的仇敵參孫交在我們手中了。」眾人看見參孫，就讚美他們的神說：「我們的神將毀壞我們地、殺害我們許多人的仇敵交在我們手中了。」他們正宴樂的時候，就說：「叫參孫來，在我們面前戲耍戲耍。」於是將參孫從監裏提出來，他就在眾人面前戲耍。他們使他站在兩柱中間。參孫向拉他手的童子說：「求你讓我摸着托房的柱子，我要靠一靠。」那時房內充滿男女，非利士人的眾首領也都在那裏。房的平頂上約有三千男女觀看參孫戲耍。參孫求告耶和華說：「主耶和華啊，求你眷念我。神啊，求你賜我這一次的力量，使我在非利士人身上報那剜我雙眼的仇。」參孫就抱住托房的那兩根柱子：左手抱一根，右手抱一根，說：「我情願與非利士人同死！」就盡力屈身，房子倒塌，壓住首領和房內的眾人。這樣，參孫死時所殺的人比活着所殺的還多。

「你們要謹慎，恐怕因貪食、醉酒，並今生的思慮累住你們的心，那日子就如同網羅忽然臨到你們；因為那日子要這樣臨到全地上一切居住的人。

約書亞一聽見百姓呼喊的聲音，就對摩西說：「在營裏有爭戰的聲音。」摩西說：「這不是人打勝仗的聲音，也不是人打敗仗的聲音；我所聽見的乃是人歌唱的聲音。」摩西挨近營前就看見牛犢，又看見人跳舞，便發烈怒，把兩塊版扔在山下摔碎了，
