He led David down, and there they were, scattered over the countryside, eating, drinking and reveling because of the great amount of plunder they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from Judah.

He led David down to where the men were. They were scattered all over the countryside. They were eating and drinking and dancing wildly. That’s because they had taken a large amount of goods from those they had attacked. They had taken it from the land of the Philistines and from the people of Judah.

And when he had taken him down, behold, they were spread abroad over all the land, eating and drinking and dancing, because of all the great spoil they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from the land of Judah.

So he led David to them, and they found the Amalekites spread out across the fields, eating and drinking and dancing with joy because of the vast amount of plunder they had taken from the Philistines and the land of Judah.

So he led him, and there were the Amalekites, spread out over the entire area, eating, drinking, and celebrating because of the great amount of plunder they had taken from the land of the Philistines and the land of Judah.

押沙龍吩咐他的僕人說：“你們注意！暗嫩酒酣耳熱的時候，我對你們說：‘擊殺暗嫩！’你們就把他殺死。不要懼怕，這不是我吩咐你們的嗎？你們要堅強，作勇敢的人。”

人正在說平安穩妥的時候，毀滅性的災禍就突然臨到他們，好像生產的痛苦臨到懷胎的婦人一樣，他們絕不能逃脫。

住在地上的人為了他們的緣故，就歡喜快樂，彼此送禮，因為這兩位先知曾經使他們受痛苦。過了三天半，有生命的氣息從神那裡來，進入他們裡面，他們就站立起來，看見他們的人都非常懼怕。他們聽見從天上來的大聲音，對他們說：“上這裡來！”他們就駕著雲上了天，他們的仇敵也看見了。就在那時，大地震發生了，那座城倒塌了十分之一，因著地震而死的有七千人，其餘的人都很害怕，就把榮耀歸給天上的神。

當時人們吃喝嫁娶，直到挪亞進入方舟的那一天，洪水來了，把他們全都滅掉。在羅得的時代也是這樣，人們吃喝買賣，耕種建造，直到羅得離開所多瑪的那一天，火與硫磺從天上降下來，把他們全都滅掉。

伯沙撒王為他的一千大臣大擺筵席，他和他們一同喝酒。伯沙撒喝酒歡暢的時候，下令把他先祖尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷聖殿裡掠取的金銀器皿拿來，好讓他和他的大臣、妻妾、妃嬪用這些器皿來喝酒。於是人把從耶路撒冷聖殿裡，就是神的殿裡，掠來的金器皿拿來；王和他的大臣、妻妾、妃嬪就用這些器皿來喝酒。他們喝酒，讚美那些用金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所做的神。

窺探的人看見一個人從城裡出來，就對他說：“請你把進城的路指示我們，我們必恩待你。”那人把進城的路指示了他們，他們就用刀擊殺了那城的居民，卻把那人和他的全家都放走。

摩西對他們說：“耶和華以色列的神這樣說：‘你們各人要把自己的劍佩在大腿上，在營中往來行走，從這門到那門；你們各人要殺自己的兄弟、鄰舍和親人。’”利未的子孫照著摩西的話作了；那一天，人民中被殺的約有三千人。

我們侵襲了基利提的南方和屬猶大地的南方，以及迦勒地的南方，又用火燒了洗革拉。”

亞比該到了拿八那裡，他正在家中擺設筵席，好像帝王的筵席一樣。拿八心裡暢快，喝得爛醉如泥，所以無論大事小事亞比該都沒有告訴他，直到第二天早晨。到了早晨，拿八酒醒了，他的妻子才把這些事告訴他，他就嚇得魂不附體，立刻中風癱瘓了。大約過了十天，耶和華擊打拿八，他就死了。

看哪！人還是歡喜快樂，宰牛殺羊，吃肉喝酒，說：“我們吃喝吧！因為明天我們就要死了。”

次日清早，人民起來，就獻上了燔祭，也帶來了平安祭；然後他們坐下吃喝，起來玩樂。

惡人的歡呼並不長久，不敬虔者的快樂，不過是暫時的嗎？

然後，我要對我的靈魂說：靈魂啊，你擁有許多好東西，足夠多年享用，只管安安逸逸地吃喝快樂吧！’神卻對他說：‘無知的人哪，今天晚上，你的靈魂必被取去，你所預備的要歸給誰呢？’

非利士人的領袖聚集起來，要給他們的神大袞獻大祭，並且歡樂慶祝；他們說：“我們的神把我們的仇敵參孫交在我們手中了。”眾人看見了參孫，就讚美他們的神，說：“我們的神把我們的仇敵，就是那毀壞我們的地，又殺死我們很多人的，交在我們手中了。”他們心裡正在高興的時候，就說：“叫參孫來，給我們耍耍把戲。”於是有人把參孫從監牢裡叫出來；參孫就在他們面前耍把戲，他們又把他放在兩根柱子中間。參孫對拉著他手的童子說：“請你讓我摸摸支撐著這廟宇的柱子，我要在柱子上靠一靠。”那時房子裡滿了男男女女，非利士人的領袖也在那裡；在房子的平頂上約有三千男女，都在觀看參孫耍把戲。參孫呼求耶和華，說：“主耶和華啊，求你記念我；神啊，求你加強我這一次的力量，只這一次罷了，使我盡一次在非利士人身上報那剜我雙眼的仇！”參孫就抱住那支撐著房子中間的兩根柱子，右手抱一根，左手抱一根。然後參孫說：“讓我與非利士人同歸於盡吧！”於是盡力屈身，房子就倒塌，壓在眾領袖和房子裡所有的人身上。這樣，參孫死的時候殺死的人，比他活著的時候殺死的人還多。

“你們應當自己小心，免得在貪食醉酒和生活的掛慮壓住你們的心的時候，那日子突然臨到你們，正如網羅臨到全地的所有居民。

約書亞聽見人民呼喊的聲音的時候，就對摩西說：“營裡有戰爭的聲音。”摩西回答：“這不是戰勝的呼聲，也不是戰敗的呼聲；我聽見的是歌唱的聲音。”摩西走近營前的時候，看見了那牛犢，又看見了有人唱歌跳舞，他就發烈怒，把兩塊法版從他的手中摔掉，在山下把它們摔碎了。
