He led David down, and there they were, scattered over the countryside, eating, drinking and reveling because of the great amount of plunder they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from Judah.

He led David down to where the men were. They were scattered all over the countryside. They were eating and drinking and dancing wildly. That’s because they had taken a large amount of goods from those they had attacked. They had taken it from the land of the Philistines and from the people of Judah.

And when he had taken him down, behold, they were spread abroad over all the land, eating and drinking and dancing, because of all the great spoil they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from the land of Judah.

So he led David to them, and they found the Amalekites spread out across the fields, eating and drinking and dancing with joy because of the vast amount of plunder they had taken from the Philistines and the land of Judah.

So he led him, and there were the Amalekites, spread out over the entire area, eating, drinking, and celebrating because of the great amount of plunder they had taken from the land of the Philistines and the land of Judah.

押沙龙吩咐他的仆人说：“你们注意！暗嫩酒酣耳热的时候，我对你们说：‘击杀暗嫩！’你们就把他杀死。不要惧怕，这不是我吩咐你们的吗？你们要坚强，作勇敢的人。”

人正在说平安稳妥的时候，毁灭性的灾祸就突然临到他们，好像生产的痛苦临到怀胎的妇人一样，他们绝不能逃脱。

住在地上的人为了他们的缘故，就欢喜快乐，彼此送礼，因为这两位先知曾经使他们受痛苦。过了三天半，有生命的气息从神那里来，进入他们里面，他们就站立起来，看见他们的人都非常惧怕。他们听见从天上来的大声音，对他们说：“上这里来！”他们就驾着云上了天，他们的仇敌也看见了。就在那时，大地震发生了，那座城倒塌了十分之一，因着地震而死的有七千人，其余的人都很害怕，就把荣耀归给天上的神。

当时人们吃喝嫁娶，直到挪亚进入方舟的那一天，洪水来了，把他们全都灭掉。在罗得的时代也是这样，人们吃喝买卖，耕种建造，直到罗得离开所多玛的那一天，火与硫磺从天上降下来，把他们全都灭掉。

伯沙撒王为他的一千大臣大摆筵席，他和他们一同喝酒。伯沙撒喝酒欢畅的时候，下令把他先祖尼布甲尼撒从耶路撒冷圣殿里掠取的金银器皿拿来，好让他和他的大臣、妻妾、妃嫔用这些器皿来喝酒。于是人把从耶路撒冷圣殿里，就是神的殿里，掠来的金器皿拿来；王和他的大臣、妻妾、妃嫔就用这些器皿来喝酒。他们喝酒，赞美那些用金、银、铜、铁、木、石所做的神。

窥探的人看见一个人从城里出来，就对他说：“请你把进城的路指示我们，我们必恩待你。”那人把进城的路指示了他们，他们就用刀击杀了那城的居民，却把那人和他的全家都放走。

摩西对他们说：“耶和华以色列的神这样说：‘你们各人要把自己的剑佩在大腿上，在营中往来行走，从这门到那门；你们各人要杀自己的兄弟、邻舍和亲人。’”利未的子孙照着摩西的话作了；那一天，人民中被杀的约有三千人。

我们侵袭了基利提的南方和属犹大地的南方，以及迦勒地的南方，又用火烧了洗革拉。”

亚比该到了拿八那里，他正在家中摆设筵席，好像帝王的筵席一样。拿八心里畅快，喝得烂醉如泥，所以无论大事小事亚比该都没有告诉他，直到第二天早晨。到了早晨，拿八酒醒了，他的妻子才把这些事告诉他，他就吓得魂不附体，立刻中风瘫痪了。大约过了十天，耶和华击打拿八，他就死了。

看哪！人还是欢喜快乐，宰牛杀羊，吃肉喝酒，说：“我们吃喝吧！因为明天我们就要死了。”

次日清早，人民起来，就献上了燔祭，也带来了平安祭；然后他们坐下吃喝，起来玩乐。

恶人的欢呼并不长久，不敬虔者的快乐，不过是暂时的吗？

然后，我要对我的灵魂说：灵魂啊，你拥有许多好东西，足够多年享用，只管安安逸逸地吃喝快乐吧！’神却对他说：‘无知的人哪，今天晚上，你的灵魂必被取去，你所预备的要归给谁呢？’

非利士人的领袖聚集起来，要给他们的神大衮献大祭，并且欢乐庆祝；他们说：“我们的神把我们的仇敌参孙交在我们手中了。”众人看见了参孙，就赞美他们的神，说：“我们的神把我们的仇敌，就是那毁坏我们的地，又杀死我们很多人的，交在我们手中了。”他们心里正在高兴的时候，就说：“叫参孙来，给我们耍耍把戏。”于是有人把参孙从监牢里叫出来；参孙就在他们面前耍把戏，他们又把他放在两根柱子中间。参孙对拉着他手的童子说：“请你让我摸摸支撑着这庙宇的柱子，我要在柱子上靠一靠。”那时房子里满了男男女女，非利士人的领袖也在那里；在房子的平顶上约有三千男女，都在观看参孙耍把戏。参孙呼求耶和华，说：“主耶和华啊，求你记念我；神啊，求你加强我这一次的力量，只这一次罢了，使我尽一次在非利士人身上报那剜我双眼的仇！”参孙就抱住那支撑着房子中间的两根柱子，右手抱一根，左手抱一根。然后参孙说：“让我与非利士人同归于尽吧！”于是尽力屈身，房子就倒塌，压在众领袖和房子里所有的人身上。这样，参孙死的时候杀死的人，比他活着的时候杀死的人还多。

“你们应当自己小心，免得在贪食醉酒和生活的挂虑压住你们的心的时候，那日子突然临到你们，正如网罗临到全地的所有居民。

约书亚听见人民呼喊的声音的时候，就对摩西说：“营里有战争的声音。”摩西回答：“这不是战胜的呼声，也不是战败的呼声；我听见的是歌唱的声音。”摩西走近营前的时候，看见了那牛犊，又看见了有人唱歌跳舞，他就发烈怒，把两块法版从他的手中摔掉，在山下把它们摔碎了。
