He led David down, and there they were, scattered over the countryside, eating, drinking and reveling because of the great amount of plunder they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from Judah.

He led David down to where the men were. They were scattered all over the countryside. They were eating and drinking and dancing wildly. That’s because they had taken a large amount of goods from those they had attacked. They had taken it from the land of the Philistines and from the people of Judah.

And when he had taken him down, behold, they were spread abroad over all the land, eating and drinking and dancing, because of all the great spoil they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from the land of Judah.

So he led David to them, and they found the Amalekites spread out across the fields, eating and drinking and dancing with joy because of the vast amount of plunder they had taken from the Philistines and the land of Judah.

So he led him, and there were the Amalekites, spread out over the entire area, eating, drinking, and celebrating because of the great amount of plunder they had taken from the land of the Philistines and the land of Judah.

押沙龙吩咐仆人说：“你们要留意，当暗嫩喝得正高兴的时候，我叫你们杀他，你们就要动手。不要畏缩，要刚强勇敢！因为这是我的命令。”

当人们正在说一切平安稳妥的时候，灾祸会像产痛临到孕妇一样突然临到他们，令他们无法逃脱。

地上万民便兴高采烈，互相送礼道贺，因为这两位先知曾使地上的人受苦。三天半过后，上帝的生命之气进入二人里面，他们便站立起来。看见的人都害怕极了！接着天上有大声音呼唤他们说：“上这里来！”他们就在敌人的注视下驾云升上天去。就在那一刻，发生了强烈的地震，那座城的十分之一倒塌了，因地震死亡的共七千人，生还者都在恐惧中将荣耀归给天上的上帝。

人们吃喝嫁娶，一直到挪亚进入方舟那天，洪水来了，毁灭了他们；又像罗得的时代，人们吃喝、做买卖、耕地、盖房。在罗得离开所多玛那天，烈火和硫磺从天而降，把他们全毁灭了。

伯沙撒王盛宴款待一千大臣，与他们一同饮酒。王畅饮的时候，命人将先王尼布甲尼撒从耶路撒冷圣殿中掳来的金银器皿拿来，供他与大臣、王后和妃嫔用来饮酒。于是，他们把从耶路撒冷上帝殿中掳来的金器拿来，王与大臣、王后和妃嫔便用这些器皿饮酒。他们一边饮酒，一边颂赞金、银、铜、铁、木、石所造的神明。

探子看见一个人从城里出来，就对他说：“请你告诉我们进城的路，我们必善待你。”那人便告诉他们进城的路，他们杀了城内所有的居民，只放走了那人及其全家。

摩西对他们说：“以色列的上帝耶和华这样说，‘你们各人带着刀，从这个门到那个门，走遍整个营，不论遇见的是兄弟、伙伴还是邻居，只管杀他们。’”利未人便照摩西的话去做。那一天，约有三千人被杀。

我们袭击了基利提的南方，犹大地区和迦勒南部，还烧毁了洗革拉。”

她回到家时，拿八正在大摆宴席，排场如御宴。她见拿八心情愉快，喝得酩酊大醉，就什么也没告诉他，等第二天早上再说。次日清晨，拿八酒醒以后，他妻子把发生的一切告诉他，他吓得昏死过去，身体僵硬如石。过了十天，耶和华击打拿八，他就死了。

但你们还是欢喜作乐，宰牛杀羊，喝酒吃肉，说：“让我们吃喝吧！因为明天我们就死了。”

第二天清晨，百姓都上前来献燔祭和平安祭，献完祭后就坐下吃喝，起来狂欢。

恶人得势不会长久，不信上帝者的快乐转瞬即逝？

那时，我就可以对自己说，“你积存这么多财产，一生享用不尽，现在大可高枕无忧、尽情地吃喝玩乐吧！”’但上帝对他说，‘无知的人啊，今晚就要取走你的命！你所预备的一切留给谁享用呢？’”

非利士人的首领聚在一起向他们的神明大衮献大祭，欢呼说：“我们的神把仇敌参孙交在我们手中了。”众人看见参孙，就赞美他们的神明，说：“我们的神把仇敌交在我们手中了，他曾毁坏我们的田地，杀死我们许多人。”他们都兴高采烈，并喊道：“把参孙带来让我们消遣消遣。”于是，有人把参孙从监牢里提出来供他们消遣，他们让他站在两根柱子中间。参孙对拉着他手的童仆说：“带我到支撑这庙宇的柱子那里，我想靠一靠。”那时，庙里挤满了男男女女，非利士人的首领们都在场，房顶上还有三千男女看参孙的热闹。参孙向耶和华祷告说：“主耶和华啊，求你眷顾我！上帝啊，求你再次赐给我力量，使我向非利士人报剜眼之仇。”参孙就抱住庙宇中央的两根柱子，一手抱一根，然后喊道：“我要跟非利士人同归于尽！”于是，他一用力，庙宇倒塌，压住里面的首领和民众。参孙死时杀的人比他活着时杀的还多。

“你们要小心，不要被宴乐、醉酒和人生的挂虑所拖累，免得那日子像网罗般突然临到你们，因为那日子将要这样临到世上每一个人。

约书亚听见山下百姓嘈杂的喊叫声，便对摩西说：“营地里有打仗的声音。”摩西对他说：“这不是打胜仗的声音，也不是打败仗的声音，而是狂欢的声音。”摩西走近营地的时候，看见牛犊，又看见百姓在跳舞，心中大怒，便把手上的两块石版摔碎在山脚下，
