and the lamp of God had not yet been extinguished. Samuel was lying down in the temple of the LORD as well; the ark of God was also there.

The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the house of the Lord, where the ark of God was.

Samuel was lying down in the Lord’ s house. That’s where the ark of God was kept. The lamp of God was still burning.

“ Command the Israelites to bring to you pure oil of beaten olives for the light, to make a lamp burn continually.Outside the veil-canopy of the congregation in the Meeting Tent Aaron must arrange it from evening until morning before the LORD continually. This is a perpetual statute throughout your generations.On the ceremonially pure lampstand he must arrange the lamps before the LORD continually.

“ You are to command the Israelites that they bring to you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, so that the lamps will burn regularly.In the tent of meeting outside the curtain that is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons are to arrange it from evening to morning before the LORD. This is to be a lasting ordinance among the Israelites for generations to come.

But as for me, because of your great faithfulness I will enter your house; I will bow down toward your holy temple as I worship you.

I have asked the LORD for one thing– this is what I desire! I want to live in the LORD’s house all the days of my life, so I can gaze at the splendor of the LORD and contemplate in his temple.

The LORD’s shout bends the large trees and strips the leaves from the forests. Everyone in his temple says,“ Majestic!”

Her rival wife used to upset her and make her worry, for the LORD had not enabled her to have children.

Aaron is to burn sweet incense on it morning by morning; when he attends to the lamps he is to burn incense.When Aaron sets up the lamps around sundown he is to burn incense on it; it is to be a regular incense offering before the LORD throughout your generations.

They offer burnt sacrifices to the LORD every morning and every evening, along with fragrant incense. They arrange the Bread of the Presence on a ritually clean table and light the lamps on the gold lampstand every evening. Certainly we are observing the LORD our God’s regulations, but you have rejected him.
