So Samuel told him everything, hiding nothing from him. Then Eli said,“ He is the Lord; let him do what is good in his eyes.”

希西家对以赛亚说：“你所说耶和华的话不错呀！”因为他心里想：“在我有生之日，必有平安和稳固。”

人活在世上，因自己的罪受惩罚，为什么发怨言呢？

以色列人对耶和华说：“我们犯了罪了，你任意对待我们吧；只求你今日拯救我们。”

所以你们要谦卑，服在神大能的手下，到了时候，他必叫你们升高。

说：“我赤身出于母胎，也必赤身归去。赏赐的是耶和华，收回的也是耶和华；耶和华的名是应当称颂的。”

因为是你作了这事，我就静默不开口。

你绝不会作这样的事：把义人与恶人一同杀死，把义人和恶人一样看待，你绝不会这样！审判全地的主，岂可不行公义吗？”

王说：“洗鲁雅的儿子啊，我与你们有什么关系呢？如果他咒骂是因为耶和华对他说：‘你要咒骂大卫！’那么谁敢说：‘你为什么这样作呢？’”大卫又对亚比筛和他所有的臣仆说：“看哪！连我亲生的儿子尚且寻索我的命，何况这便雅悯人呢？由他去吧，由他咒骂吧！因为这是耶和华吩咐他的。也许耶和华看见我的苦难，就施恩与我，以取代今天这人对我的咒骂。”
