So Samuel told him everything, hiding nothing from him. Then Eli said,“ He is the Lord; let him do what is good in his eyes.”

So Samuel told Eli everything; he didn’t hold anything back.“ It is the Lord’s will,” Eli replied.“ Let him do what he thinks best.”

世人因自己的罪受罰，又何必怨天尤人呢？

他們對耶和華說：「我們犯了罪，任你處置我們，只求你今天拯救我們。」

所以你們要在上帝大能的手下謙卑，時候到了，祂必擢升你們。

說：「我從母腹赤身而來，也必赤身而去。賞賜的是耶和華，收回的也是耶和華。耶和華的名當受稱頌！」

我默然不語，一言不發，因為我受的責罰是出於你。

你絕不會黑白不分，把義人和惡人一同毀滅。你是普天下的審判者，難道不秉公行事嗎？」

王卻說：「洗魯雅的兒子啊，不要管我的事。如果是耶和華叫他來咒罵我，誰能干涉他呢？」大衛對亞比篩和他所有臣僕說：「我的親生兒子尚且要取我的命，何況這個便雅憫人呢？由他去吧！因為這是耶和華的意思。也許耶和華會體察我的困苦，因我今天所受的咒罵而賜福給我。」
