For I told him that I would judge his family forever because of the sin he knew about; his sons blasphemed God, and he failed to restrain them.

I told Eli I would punish his family forever. He knew his sons were sinning. He knew they were saying bad things about me. In spite of that, he did not stop them.

And I declare to him that I am about to punish his house forever, for the iniquity that he knew, because his sons were blaspheming God, and he did not restrain them.

I have warned him that judgment is coming upon his family forever, because his sons are blaspheming God and he hasn’t disciplined them.

故主耶和華曰、以色列家歟、我必依各人所行而鞫之、爾其回轉、離棄諸罪、免愆尤之窒礙、

童穉勿缺懲責、以杖扑之、不至死亡、當扑之以杖、以救其魂、不入陰府、

蓋爾屢詛人、爾心自知之、○

又曰、昔爾行於我父大衛之惡、爾心所存、爾悉知之、今耶和華必使爾惡、歸於爾首、

列國其興、上至約沙法谷、我坐於彼、而鞫四周諸民、

我上帝歟、爾不懲之乎、我儕無力禦此攻我之眾、不知所為、我目惟爾是望、

以利年邁、聞其子待以色列眾之事、並聞其與會幕門供役之婦同寢、謂之曰、我由民眾聞爾惡行、胡為作此、我子、勿爾、我所風聞、非善言也、爾使耶和華之民干罪、人若相犯、上帝鞫之、若犯耶和華、誰為之祈、惟二子不聽父言、蓋耶和華決意殺之、小子撒母耳漸長、益得耶和華與人之愛、○有上帝僕至以利曰、耶和華云、爾祖之家、在埃及法老室、我非向之顯見乎、以色列支派中、我非簡彼為我祭司、使焚香於我壇、衣聖衣於我前乎、以色列族所獻之火祭、我非賜爾祖之家乎、我所命獻於我室之祭品禮物、爾何踐踏之、重爾子過於我、取我民以色列所獻之嘉者、以肥己乎、故以色列之上帝耶和華曰、昔我有言、爾與爾祖之家、將恆久行於我前、今我則曰、決不如是、凡尊我者、我必重之、凡藐我者、我必輕之、其日將至、必斷爾臂、及爾祖家之臂、使爾家中無一耆老、以色列富有之際、爾必目擊敵在我室、爾家永無耆老、爾家之人、我不滅於我壇者、必使爾目壞心憂、爾家所育、皆必壯年夭逝、爾之二子、何弗尼非尼哈所遇之事、可以為徵、彼必同日而亡、我將挺生忠藎之祭司、彼將循我心意而行、我必鞏固其家、彼必恆久行於我受膏者前、爾家所遺、必來拜之、求一金一餅、曰、請立我任祭司之職、俾得少許之餅以食、

末期至爾、我必加怒於爾、循爾行徑鞫爾、報爾所有可惡之事、
