So Achish summoned David and said to him,“ As surely as the LORD lives, you are an honest man, and I am glad to have you serving with me in the army. I have found no fault with you from the day that you first came to me until the present time. But in the opinion of the leaders, you are not reliable.

亚吉便叫大卫过来，对他说：“我凭永活的耶和华起誓，你一向忠心耿耿，自从你投奔我以来，我没发现你有什么过错，我很愿意你与我一同作战，只是众首领不赞成。

亚吉把大卫叫来，对他说：“我指着永活的耶和华说，你是正直的人，你与我在军中出入，我感到很满意，因为自从你到我这里来的那一天，直到今日，我未曾在你身上找到什么过失；只是各首领不喜欢你。

于是亚吉召来大卫，对他说：“我指着耶和华的永生起誓：你是正直人，你跟我一起在军中出入，这事在我眼中看为好，因为自从你来到我这里那天起，直到今天，我在你身上找不到任何过犯。只是你在首领们眼中看为不好。

亞吉叫大衛來，對他說：「我指着永生的耶和華起誓，你是正直人。你隨我在軍中出入，我看你甚好。自從你投奔我到如今，我未曾見你有甚麼過失；只是眾首領不喜悅你。

亞吉把大衛叫來，對他說：『我指着永活的永恆主來起誓：「你是正直人；你跟着我在軍營中出入、我看得很滿意；自從你來我這裏、直到如今、我未曾見過你有甚麼壞處；只是眾霸主卻不喜歡你。

於是亞吉召來大衛，對他說：「我指著耶和華的永生起誓：你是正直人，你跟我一起在軍中出入，這事在我眼中看為好，因為自從你來到我這裡那天起，直到今天，我在你身上找不到任何過犯。只是你在首領們眼中看為不好。

亞吉召大衛曰、我指維生之耶和華而誓、爾乃端正、偕我出入軍中、我視為善、自爾來歸、未嘗見爾有惡、惟牧伯不愛爾、

亞吉召大闢曰、我指耶和華以誓、爾甚忠直、自投誠以來、爾出入相從、有善無惡、然不見愛於諸伯。

亞吉召大衛曰、我指永生主而誓、爾誠正直、爾隨我出入於軍、軍或作營我視為善、自爾投我至於今日、我未見爾有過、然諸伯不悅爾、

So Achish called David and said to him,“ As surely as the Lord lives, you have been reliable, and I would be pleased to have you serve with me in the army. From the day you came to me until today, I have found no fault in you, but the rulers don’t approve of you.

So Achish called David over to him. He said,“ You have been faithful to me. And that’s just as sure as the Lord is alive. I would be pleased to have you serve with me in the army. I haven’t found any fault in you. That’s been true from the day you came to me until today. But the Philistine rulers aren’t pleased to have you come along.

Then Achish called David and said to him,“ As the Lord lives, you have been honest, and to me it seems right that you should march out and in with me in the campaign. For I have found nothing wrong in you from the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless, the lords do not approve of you.

So Achish finally summoned David and said to him,“ I swear by the Lord that you have been a trustworthy ally. I think you should go with me into battle, for I’ve never found a single flaw in you from the day you arrived until today. But the other Philistine rulers won’t hear of it.

So Achish summoned David and told him,“ As the LORD lives, you are an honorable man. I think it is good to have you fighting in this unit with me, because I have found no fault in you from the day you came to me until today. But the leaders don’t think you are reliable.

Then Achish called David and said to him,“ As the Lord lives, you have indeed been honest, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army are pleasing in my sight; for I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless, you are not pleasing in the sight of the governors.

Then Achish called David and said to him,“ Surely, as the Lord lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army is good in my sight. For to this day I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me. Nevertheless the lords do not favor you.

Then Achish called David, and said unto him, As Jehovah liveth, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host is good in my sight; for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day: nevertheless the lords favor thee not.

So Achish summoned David and told him,“ As the Lord lives, you are an honorable man. I think it is good to have you working with me in the camp, because I have found no fault in you from the day you came to me until today. But the leaders don’t think you are reliable.

Then Achish called David, and said unto him, Surely,[ as] the LORD liveth, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host[ is] good in my sight: for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day: nevertheless the lords favour thee not.

Then Achish called David, and said to him,“ As Yahweh lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army is good in my sight; for I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless, the lords don’t favor you.

I know where you live, and everything you do.

You know Abner the son of Ner! Surely he came here to spy on you and to determine when you leave and when you return and to discover everything that you are doing!”

The LORD will protect you in all you do, now and forevermore.

Taking an oath, David again said,“ Your father is very much aware of the fact that I have found favor with you, and he has thought,‘ Don’t let Jonathan know about this, or he will be upset.’ But as surely as the LORD lives and you live, there is about one step between me and death!”

In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good deeds and give honor to your Father in heaven.

But Saul swore an oath to her by the LORD,“ As surely as the LORD lives, you will not incur guilt in this matter!”

I know where you live and everything you do and how you rage against me.

When Phinehas the priest and the community leaders and clan leaders who accompanied him heard the defense of the Reubenites, Gadites, and the Manassehites, they were satisfied.

Abram said to Sarai,“ Since your servant is under your authority, do to her whatever you think best.” Then Sarai treated Hagar harshly, so she ran away from Sarai.

Yet do it with courtesy and respect, keeping a good conscience, so that those who slander your good conduct in Christ may be put to shame when they accuse you.

who will go out before them, and who will come in before them, and who will lead them out, and who will bring them in, so that the community of the LORD may not be like sheep that have no shepherd.”

Whoever pronounces a blessing in the earth will do so in the name of the faithful God; whoever makes an oath in the earth will do so in the name of the faithful God. For past problems will be forgotten; I will no longer think about them.

Then David and his men went up and raided the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites.( They had been living in that land for a long time, from the approach to Shur as far as the land of Egypt.)When David would attack a district, he would leave neither man nor woman alive. He would take sheep, cattle, donkeys, camels, and clothing and would then go back to Achish.When Achish would ask,“ Where did you raid today?” David would say,“ The Negev of Judah” or“ The Negev of Jeharmeel” or“ The Negev of the Kenites.”Neither man nor woman would David leave alive so as to bring them back to Gath. He was thinking,“ This way they can’t tell on us, saying,‘ This is what David did.’” Such was his practice the entire time that he lived in the country of the Philistines.So Achish trusted David, thinking to himself,“ He is really hated among his own people in Israel! From now on he will be my servant.”

Revere the LORD your God, serve him, be loyal to him and take oaths only in his name.

But they must make sure you learn to follow the religious practices of my people. Once they taught my people to swear their oaths using the name of the god Baal. But then, they must swear oaths using my name, saying,“ As surely as the LORD lives, I swear.” If they do these things, then they will be included among the people I call my own.

The leaders of the Philistines asked,“ What about these Hebrews?” Achish said to the leaders of the Philistines,“ Isn’t this David, the servant of King Saul of Israel, who has been with me for quite some time? I have found no fault with him from the day of his defection until the present time!”

and maintain good conduct among the non- Christians, so that though they now malign you as wrongdoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God when he appears.
