There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who tells fortunes, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,or a charmer, or someone who consults with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

The woman said to him,“ Behold, you know what Saul has done, how he has cut off those who have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land. Why then do you lay a snare for my life, to cause me to die?”

“‘ The person that turns to those who are mediums and wizards, to play the prostitute after them, I will even set my face against that person, and will cut him off from among his people.

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphim. Because you have rejected Yahweh’s word, he has also rejected you from being king.”

As we were going to prayer, a certain girl having a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much gain by fortune telling.Following Paul and us, she cried out,“ These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us a way of salvation!”She was doing this for many days. But Paul, becoming greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit,“ I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” It came out that very hour.But when her masters saw that the hope of their gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas, and dragged them into the marketplace before the rulers.

His return was to Ramah, for his house was there; and he judged Israel there; and he built an altar to Yahweh there.

The righteous perish, and no one lays it to heart. Merciful men are taken away, and no one considers that the righteous is taken away from the evil.He enters into peace. They rest in their beds, each one who walks in his uprightness.
