There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, a soothsayer, one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer,or one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who consults the dead.

But the woman said to him,“ Behold, you know what Saul has done, that he has eliminated the mediums and spiritists from the land. Why are you then setting a trap for my life, to bring about my death?”

‘ As for the person who turns to mediums and to spiritists, to play the prostitute with them, I will also set My face against that person and will cut him off from among his people.

For rebellion is as reprehensible as the sin of divination, And insubordination is as reprehensible as false religion and idolatry. Since you have rejected the word of the Lord, He has also rejected you from being king.”

It happened that as we were going to the place of prayer, a slave woman who had a spirit of divination met us, who was bringing great profit to her masters by fortune telling.She followed Paul and us and cried out repeatedly, saying,“ These men are bond servants of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you a way of salvation.”Now she continued doing this for many days. But Paul was greatly annoyed, and he turned and said to the spirit,“ I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” And it came out at that very moment.But when her masters saw that their hope of profit was suddenly gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the authorities,

Then he would make his return to Ramah, because his house was there, and there he also judged Israel; and there he built an altar to the Lord.

The righteous person perishes, and no one takes it to heart; And devout people are taken away, while no one understands. For the righteous person is taken away from evil,He enters into peace; They rest in their beds, Each one who walked in his upright way.
