在你中間不可有人把自己的兒女獻作火祭（“把自己的兒女獻作火祭”直譯是“使自己的兒女經過進入火中”），也不可有占卜的、算命的、用法術的、行邪術的、念咒的、問鬼的、行巫術的、過陰的。

有一次，我們到祈禱的地方去的時候，一個被巫鬼附著的婢女迎面而來；她行占卜使主人們發了大財。她跟著保羅和我們，喊叫說：“這些人是至高神的僕人，向你們傳講得救的道路。”她一連多日這樣喊叫，保羅覺得厭煩，就轉身對那鬼說：“我奉耶穌基督的名，命令你從她身上出來！”那鬼就立刻出來了。她的主人們看見發財的希望完了，就揪住保羅和西拉，拉到市中心去見官長，

然後，他回到拉瑪，因為他的家在那裡。他也在那裡治理以色列人，並且在那裡為耶和華築了一座祭壇。

義人死亡，沒有人放在心上；虔誠人去世，也沒有人明白；義人去世，是脫離了禍患。行事為人正直的，死後必得進入平安，在他們的墳墓裡享安息。
