The Lord has done this to you today because you refused to carry out his fierce anger against the Amalekites.

爾不聽耶和華命、成其烈怒於亞瑪力、故今日耶和華以此加諸爾、

爾不遵耶和華命、其怒亞馬力人爾不雪其恨、故迄今日、致有此事。

緣爾不遵主命、不循主之烈怒以滅亞瑪力人、故今日主待爾若此、

Because you did not obey the Lord or carry out his fierce wrath against the Amalekites, the Lord has done this to you today.

You didn’t obey the Lord. You didn’t show his great anger against the Amalekites by destroying them. So he’s punishing you today.

Because you did not obey the voice of the Lord and did not carry out his fierce wrath against Amalek, therefore the Lord has done this thing to you this day.

You did not obey the LORD and did not carry out his burning anger against Amalek; therefore the LORD has done this to you today.

Just as you did not obey the Lord and did not execute His fierce wrath on Amalek, so the Lord has done this thing to you this day.

Because you did not obey the voice of the Lord nor execute His fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore the Lord has done this thing to you this day.

Because thou obeyedst not the voice of Jehovah, and didst not execute his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore hath Jehovah done this thing unto thee this day.

You did not obey the Lord and did not carry out His burning anger against Amalek; therefore the Lord has done this to you today.

Because thou obeyedst not the voice of the LORD, nor executedst his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore hath the LORD done this thing unto thee this day.

Since you did not obey the LORD and did not carry out his fierce anger against the Amalekites, the LORD has done this thing to you today.

Because you didn’t obey Yahweh’s voice, and didn’t execute his fierce wrath on Amalek, therefore Yahweh has done this thing to you today.

The prophet said to him,“ This is what the Lord says: Because you have spared the man I said must be destroyed, now you must die in his place, and your people will die instead of his people.”

Saul and his men spared Agag’s life and kept the best of the sheep and goats, the cattle, the fat calves, and the lambs— everything, in fact, that appealed to them. They destroyed only what was worthless or of poor quality.

Cursed are those who refuse to do the Lord’s work, who hold back their swords from shedding blood!

So he demanded,“ Bring me the burnt offering and the peace offerings!” And Saul sacrificed the burnt offering himself.

“ But I did obey the Lord,” Saul insisted.“ I carried out the mission he gave me. I brought back King Agag, but I destroyed everyone else.

While you did all this, I remained silent, and you thought I didn’t care. But now I will rebuke you, listing all my charges against you.Repent, all of you who forget me, or I will tear you apart, and no one will help you.

Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the command of the Lord, he has rejected you as king.”Then Saul admitted to Samuel,“ Yes, I have sinned. I have disobeyed your instructions and the Lord’s command, for I was afraid of the people and did what they demanded.But now, please forgive my sin and come back with me so that I may worship the Lord.”But Samuel replied,“ I will not go back with you! Since you have rejected the Lord’s command, he has rejected you as king of Israel.”

So Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord. He failed to obey the Lord’s command, and he even consulted a medium
