Now David and his men went up and raided the Geshurites, the Girzites and the Amalekites.( From ancient times these peoples had lived in the land extending to Shur and Egypt.)

Sometimes David and his men would go up and attack the Geshurites. At other times they would attack the Girzites or the Amalekites. All those people had lived in the land that reached all the way to Shur and Egypt. They had been there for a long time.

Now David and his men went up and made raids against the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites, for these were the inhabitants of the land from of old, as far as Shur, to the land of Egypt.

David and his men spent their time raiding the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites— people who had lived near Shur, toward the land of Egypt, since ancient times.

還剩下來的地，就是非利士人的全境和基述人的全地，

掃羅擊殺亞瑪力人，從哈腓拉直到埃及東的書珥，生擒了亞瑪力人的王亞甲，用刀殺滅了所有人民。

以色列人卻沒有趕走基述人和瑪迦人；因此，基述人和瑪迦人住在以色列人中間，直到今日。

以法蓮也沒有把住在基色的迦南人趕走，於是迦南人還住在基色，在以法蓮中間。

可是他們沒有把住在基色的迦南人趕走，於是迦南人住在以法蓮中間，直到今日，成了作苦工的奴僕。

於是約押起來，往基述去，把押沙龍帶回耶路撒冷。

基述人和亞蘭人卻從他們那裡奪取了睚珥的村鎮，以及基納和基納的村莊，共六十座城。以上這些人都是基列的父親瑪吉的子孫。

那時亞瑪力人來了，在利非訂和以色列人爭戰。

押沙龍回答約押：“看哪，我派人去見你，說：‘請你到這裡來，我要託你去見王，替我說：“我為甚麼從基述回來呢？我若是還留在那邊，會覺得更好。”’現在，我要見王的面，如果我有罪，任由他把我殺死好了。”

因為僕人住在亞蘭的基述的時候，曾經許了一個願說：‘如果耶和華使我再回到耶路撒冷來，我就要在希伯崙事奉他。’”

這是所羅門王徵召服勞役的建築耶和華的殿和他自己的王宮，以及米羅、耶路撒冷的城牆、夏瑣、米吉多和基色的記錄。先前埃及王法老上來攻取基色，放火燒城，殺了住在城裡的迦南人，把城送給自己的女兒、所羅門的妻子作嫁妝。所以所羅門重建基色、下伯．和崙、

摩西命以色列人從紅海起程，到書珥曠野去；他們在曠野走了三天，找不著水。

押沙龍逃亡，走到基述王亞米忽的兒子達買那裡去了。大衛天天為他的兒子哀傷。押沙龍逃亡，逃到基述那裡去，在那裡住了三年。

第三天，大衛和跟隨他的人到了洗革拉。那時亞瑪力人襲擊了南地和洗革拉。他們攻破了洗革拉，又放火焚燒。

耶和華對摩西說：“我要把亞瑪力的名號從天下完全抹掉；你要把話寫在書上作記念，也要告訴約書亞。”摩西築了一座祭壇，給它起名叫“耶和華尼西”。摩西又說：“向耶和華的旌旗舉手，耶和華必世世代代和亞瑪力人爭戰。”
