David then asked Ahimelek the Hittite and Abishai son of Zeruiah, Joab’s brother,“ Who will go down into the camp with me to Saul?”“ I’ll go with you,” said Abishai.

Then David spoke to Ahimelek, the Hittite. He also spoke to Joab’s brother Abishai, the son of Zeruiah. He asked them,“ Who will go down with me into the camp to Saul?”“ I’ll go with you,” said Abishai.

Then David said to Ahimelech the Hittite, and to Joab’s brother Abishai the son of Zeruiah,“ Who will go down with me into the camp to Saul?” And Abishai said,“ I will go down with you.”

“ Who will volunteer to go in there with me?” David asked Ahimelech the Hittite and Abishai son of Zeruiah, Joab’s brother.“ I’ll go with you,” Abishai replied.

Then David asked Ahimelech the Hethite and Joab’s brother Abishai son of Zeruiah,“ Who will go with me into the camp to Saul?”“ I’ll go with you,” answered Abishai.

Then David said to Ahimelech the Hittite and to Abishai the son of Zeruiah, Joab’s brother, saying,“ Who will go down with me to Saul in the camp?” And Abishai said,“ I will go down with you.”

But if you are afraid to go down, go with Purah your servant down to the camp.You will hear what they say; and afterward your hands will be strengthened to go down into the camp.” Then went he down with Purah his servant to the outermost part of the armed men who were in the camp.

Because he curses, and because Yahweh has said to him,‘ Curse David;’ who then shall say,‘ Why have you done so?’”
