David then asked Ahimelek the Hittite and Abishai son of Zeruiah, Joab’s brother,“ Who will go down into the camp with me to Saul?”“ I’ll go with you,” said Abishai.

Then David spoke to Ahimelek, the Hittite. He also spoke to Joab’s brother Abishai, the son of Zeruiah. He asked them,“ Who will go down with me into the camp to Saul?”“ I’ll go with you,” said Abishai.

Then David said to Ahimelech the Hittite, and to Joab’s brother Abishai the son of Zeruiah,“ Who will go down with me into the camp to Saul?” And Abishai said,“ I will go down with you.”

“ Who will volunteer to go in there with me?” David asked Ahimelech the Hittite and Abishai son of Zeruiah, Joab’s brother.“ I’ll go with you,” Abishai replied.

Then David asked Ahimelech the Hethite and Joab’s brother Abishai son of Zeruiah,“ Who will go with me into the camp to Saul?”“ I’ll go with you,” answered Abishai.

Then David said to Ahimelech the Hittite and to Abishai the son of Zeruiah, Joab’s brother, saying,“ Who will go down with me to Saul in the camp?” And Abishai said,“ I will go down with you.”

Then David answered, and said to Ahimelech the Hittite and to Abishai the son of Zeruiah, brother of Joab, saying,“ Who will go down with me to Saul in the camp?” And Abishai said,“ I will go down with you.”

But if thou fear to go down, go thou with Purah thy servant down to the camp:and thou shalt hear what they say; and afterward shall thy hands be strengthened to go down into the camp. Then went he down with Purah his servant unto the outermost part of the armed men that were in the camp.

And the three sons of Zeruiah were there, Joab, and Abishai, and Asahel: and Asahel was as light of foot as a wild roe.

And the king commanded Joab and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Deal gently for my sake with the young man, even with Absalom. And all the people heard when the king gave all the captains charge concerning Absalom.

Because he curseth, and because Jehovah hath said unto him, Curse David; who then shall say, Wherefore hast thou done so?
