The Lord rewards everyone for their righteousness and faithfulness. The Lord delivered you into my hands today, but I would not lay a hand on the Lord’s anointed.

The Lord rewards everyone for doing what is right and being faithful. He handed you over to me today. But I wouldn’t harm you. You are the Lord’ s anointed king.

大卫却对亚比筛说：“不可杀死他，因为有谁伸手伤害耶和华的受膏者而无罪呢？”

主啊！慈爱也属于你，你必照各人所作的报应各人。

耶和华按着我的公义报答我，照着我手中的清洁回报我。因为我谨守了耶和华的道，未曾作恶离开我的神。因为他的一切典章常摆在我面前，他的律例，我未曾丢弃。我在他面前作完全的人，我也谨慎自己，脱离我的罪孽。所以耶和华按着我的公义，照着我在他眼前手中的清洁回报我。对慈爱的人，你显出你的慈爱；对完全的人，你显出你的完全；对清洁的人，你显出你的清洁；对狡诈的人，你显出你的机巧。

愿耶和华审判万民。耶和华啊！求你按着我的公义，照着我心中的正直判断我。愿恶人的恶行止息，愿你使义人坚立。公义的神啊！你是察验人心肠肺腑的。

我在耶和华面前，绝对不敢伸手伤害耶和华的受膏者。现在，你可以把扫罗头旁的矛和水袋拿来，我们就走吧！”

就对跟随他的人说：“我在耶和华面前绝对不能这样对待我主耶和华的受膏者，我绝对不能动手攻击他，因为他是耶和华的受膏者。”大卫用这些话阻止了跟随他的人，不让他们起来攻击扫罗。扫罗起来，出了山洞，继续走他的路去了。
