Surely the Lord will strike Saul down someday, or he will die of old age or in battle.

大卫又说：“我指着耶和华的永生起誓：一定是耶和华来击打他——或是到了所定的日子而死，或是出战阵亡；

又曰、我指維生之耶和華而誓、耶和華必擊之、或使及期而死、或使臨陳而亡、

又曰、彼或為耶和華所擊、或至逝世之期而終、或沒於行伍之間、我指耶和華以誓、

大衛又曰、我指永生主而誓、彼或為主所擊、或至逝世之期而終、或往戰而亡於陣、

As surely as the Lord lives,” he said,“ the Lord himself will strike him, or his time will come and he will die, or he will go into battle and perish.

You can be sure that the Lord lives,” he said.“ And you can be just as sure that the Lord himself will strike Saul down. Perhaps he’ll die a natural death. Or perhaps he’ll go into battle and be killed.

And David said,“ As the Lord lives, the Lord will strike him, or his day will come to die, or he will go down into battle and perish.

David added,“ As the LORD lives, the LORD will certainly strike him down: either his day will come and he will die, or he will go into battle and perish.

David also said,“ As the Lord lives, the Lord certainly will strike him, or his day will come that he dies, or he will go down in battle and perish.

David said furthermore,“ As the Lord lives, the Lord shall strike him, or his day shall come to die, or he shall go out to battle and perish.

And David said, As Jehovah liveth, Jehovah will smite him; or his day shall come to die; or he shall go down into battle and perish.

David added,“ As the Lord lives, the Lord will certainly strike him down: either his day will come and he will die, or he will go into battle and perish.

David said furthermore,[ As] the LORD liveth, the LORD shall smite him; or his day shall come to die; or he shall descend into battle, and perish.

David went on to say,“ As the LORD lives, the LORD himself will strike him down. Either his day will come and he will die, or he will go down into battle and be swept away.

David said,“ As Yahweh lives, Yahweh will strike him; or his day shall come to die; or he shall go down into battle and perish.

As the time of his death drew near, Jacob called for his son Joseph and said to him,“ Please do me this favor. Put your hand under my thigh and swear that you will treat me with unfailing love by honoring this last request: Do not bury me in Egypt.

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ The time has come for you to die. Call Joshua and present yourselves at the Tabernacle, so that I may commission him there.” So Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves at the Tabernacle.

About ten days later, the Lord struck him, and he died.

So Saul, his three sons, his armor bearer, and his troops all died together that same day.

But the Lord just laughs, for he sees their day of judgment coming.

Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say,“ I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord.

“ Now, my lord, as surely as the Lord lives and you yourself live, since the Lord has kept you from murdering and taking vengeance into your own hands, let all your enemies and those who try to harm you be as cursed as Nabal is.

I will take revenge; I will pay them back. In due time their feet will slip. Their day of disaster will arrive, and their destiny will overtake them.’

Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?

Can the dead live again? If so, this would give me hope through all my years of struggle, and I would eagerly await the release of death.

You have decided the length of our lives. You know how many months we will live, and we are not given a minute longer.

Therefore, these plagues will overtake her in a single day— death and mourning and famine. She will be completely consumed by fire, for the Lord God who judges her is mighty.”

And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment,

May the Lord therefore judge which of us is right and punish the guilty one. He is my advocate, and he will rescue me from your power!”

Soon the wicked will disappear. Though you look for them, they will be gone.

A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest.

O Lord, the God of vengeance, O God of vengeance, let your glorious justice shine forth!Arise, O Judge of the earth. Give the proud what they deserve.

“ Is not all human life a struggle? Our lives are like that of a hired hand,

God will turn the sins of evil people back on them. He will destroy them for their sins. The Lord our God will destroy them.
