David added,“ As the Lord lives, the Lord will certainly strike him down: either his day will come and he will die, or he will go into battle and perish.

As surely as the Lord lives,” he said,“ the Lord himself will strike him, or his time will come and he will die, or he will go into battle and perish.

You can be sure that the Lord lives,” he said.“ And you can be just as sure that the Lord himself will strike Saul down. Perhaps he’ll die a natural death. Or perhaps he’ll go into battle and be killed.

Now my lord, as surely as the Lord lives and as you yourself live, it is the Lord who kept you from participating in bloodshed and avenging yourself by your own hand. May your enemies and those who want trouble for my lord be like Nabal.

Vengeance belongs to Me; I will repay. In time their foot will slip, for their day of disaster is near, and their doom is coming quickly.”

Will not God grant justice to His elect who cry out to Him day and night? Will He delay to help them?

When a man dies, will he come back to life? If so, I would wait all the days of my struggle until my relief comes.

Since man’s days are determined and the number of his months depends on You, and since You have set limits he cannot pass,

For this reason her plagues will come in one day— death and grief and famine. She will be burned up with fire, because the Lord God who judges her is mighty.

And just as it is appointed for people to die once— and after this, judgment—

May the Lord be judge and decide between you and me. May He take notice and plead my case and deliver me from you.”

A little while, and the wicked person will be no more; though you look for him, he will not be there.

a time to give birth and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to uproot;

Lord, God of vengeance— God of vengeance, appear.Rise up, Judge of the earth; repay the proud what they deserve.

Isn’t mankind consigned to forced labor on earth? Are not his days like those of a hired hand?

He will pay them back for their sins and destroy them for their evil. The Lord our God will destroy them.
