因此猶大人、住在無牆之城的鄉下人、都以亞達月十四日作為歡樂宴飲的日子，作為休假日，彼此贈送禮物。

他又對他們說：『你們去喫肥美的，喝甘甜的，將祭肉分兒送給那不能豫備的；因為今天是我們的主的聖日；你們不要憂愁，因為靠永恆主而得的喜樂、就是你們的力量。』於是利未人使眾民安靜下來，說：『今天是聖日；你們要安然自在，不要憂愁。』眾民都去喫喝，也將祭肉分兒送給人，大大歡喜作樂，因為他們明白所教訓他們的話。

耶穌也對那請他的人說：『你辦午飯或晚飯的時候，不要邀請你的朋友、或弟兄、或親戚、或富足的鄰舍；恐怕他們也回請你，報答你。不，你辦迎賓席的時候，要請討飯的、殘廢的、瘸腿的、眼瞎的，你就有福了。因為他們沒有甚麼可報答你；在義人的復活生活中，你就會得着報答了。』

其實你們只要把裏邊的施捨給人，那麼一切對你們就都潔淨了。

作為猶大人脫離仇敵、得享平安的日子，作為從愁苦轉為歡樂、從悲哀轉為快樂的假日月份，叫他們以這兩天作為宴飲歡樂的日子，彼此贈送禮物、給窮人送恩物。

將業分分給七人或八人吧；因為你不知道將來會有甚麼災禍臨到地上。

永恆主又再呼喚撒母耳；撒母耳起來，到以利跟前說：『你呼喚我；我在這裏呢。』以利說：『我兒啊，我沒有呼喚你；你回去睡吧！』

我父請看，看你外袍的衣邊居然在我手中呢；我既把你外袍的衣邊割下來，又沒有殺害你，那你總可以知道、總可以看清楚、我手中並沒有謀害或背叛了罷。我沒有得罪了你，你竟獵取我的性命要了結它。
