Ask your own servants and they will tell you. Therefore be favorable toward my men, since we come at a festive time. Please give your servants and your son David whatever you can find for them.’”

所以住無城牆鄉村的猶大人，如今都以亞達月十四日為設筵歡樂的吉日，彼此餽送禮物。

又對他們說：「你們去吃肥美的，喝甘甜的，有不能預備的就分給他，因為今日是我們主的聖日。你們不要憂愁，因靠耶和華而得的喜樂是你們的力量。」於是利未人使眾民靜默，說：「今日是聖日；不要作聲，也不要憂愁。」眾民都去吃喝，也分給人，大大快樂，因為他們明白所教訓他們的話。

耶穌又對請他的人說：「你擺設午飯或晚飯，不要請你的朋友、弟兄、親屬，和富足的鄰舍，恐怕他們也請你，你就得了報答。你擺設筵席，倒要請那貧窮的、殘廢的、瘸腿的、瞎眼的，你就有福了！因為他們沒有甚麼可報答你。到義人復活的時候，你要得着報答。」

只要把裏面的施捨給人，凡物於你們就都潔淨了。

以這月的兩日為猶大人脫離仇敵得平安、轉憂為喜、轉悲為樂的吉日。在這兩日設筵歡樂，彼此餽送禮物，賙濟窮人。

你要分給七人，或分給八人，因為你不知道將來有甚麼災禍臨到地上。

耶和華又呼喚撒母耳。撒母耳起來，到以利那裏，說：「你呼喚我？我在這裏。」以利回答說：「我的兒，我沒有呼喚你，你去睡吧。」

我父啊，看看你外袍的衣襟在我手中。我割下你的衣襟，沒有殺你；你由此可以知道我沒有惡意叛逆你。你雖然獵取我的命，我卻沒有得罪你。
