對大衛說：「你比我公義，因為你以善待我，我卻以惡待你。

撒母耳對他說：「今日耶和華使以色列國與你斷絕，把這國賜給另一個比你更好的人。

你們的光也要這樣照在人前，叫他們看見你們的好行為，把榮耀歸給你們在天上的父。」

因為大衛除了赫人烏利亞那件事，都行耶和華眼中看為正的事，一生沒有違背耶和華一切所吩咐的。

百夫長看見所發生的事，就歸榮耀給上帝，說：「這人真是個義人！」

我們是應得的，因為我們是自作自受，但這個人沒有做過一件不對的事。」

行為正直、遵行耶和華律法的，這人有福了！遵守他的法度、一心尋求他的，這人有福了！他們不做不義的事，但遵行他的道。

她俯伏在大衛的腳前，說：「我主啊，願這罪歸於我！求你容許使女向你進言，更求你聽使女的話。

從前掃羅作我們王的時候，率領以色列人出入的是你。耶和華也曾對你說：『你必牧養我的百姓以色列，你必作以色列的君王。』」

他對他的人說：「耶和華絕不允許我對我的主，耶和華的受膏者做這事，伸手害他，因為他是耶和華的受膏者。」大衛用這話勸阻他的人，不許他們起來害掃羅。掃羅起來，從洞裏出去，預備上路。

最後，你們要靠着主，依賴他的大能大力作剛強的人。要穿戴上帝所賜的全副軍裝，好抵擋魔鬼的詭計。

他說：「猶大眾人、耶路撒冷的居民和約沙法王啊，你們要留心聽，耶和華對你們如此說：『不要因這大軍恐懼驚惶，因為勝敗不在乎你們，而是在乎上帝。
