对大卫说：“你比我公义，因为你以善待我，我却以恶待你。

撒母耳对他说：“今日耶和华使以色列国与你断绝，把这国赐给另一个比你更好的人。

你们的光也要这样照在人前，叫他们看见你们的好行为，把荣耀归给你们在天上的父。”

因为大卫除了赫人乌利亚那件事，都行耶和华眼中看为正的事，一生没有违背耶和华一切所吩咐的。

百夫长看见所发生的事，就归荣耀给上帝，说：“这人真是个义人！”

我们是应得的，因为我们是自作自受，但这个人没有做过一件不对的事。”

行为正直、遵行耶和华律法的，这人有福了！遵守他的法度、一心寻求他的，这人有福了！他们不做不义的事，但遵行他的道。

她俯伏在大卫的脚前，说：“我主啊，愿这罪归于我！求你容许使女向你进言，更求你听使女的话。

从前扫罗作我们王的时候，率领以色列人出入的是你。耶和华也曾对你说：‘你必牧养我的百姓以色列，你必作以色列的君王。’”

他对他的人说：“耶和华绝不允许我对我的主，耶和华的受膏者做这事，伸手害他，因为他是耶和华的受膏者。”大卫用这话劝阻他的人，不许他们起来害扫罗。扫罗起来，从洞里出去，预备上路。

最后，你们要靠着主，依赖他的大能大力作刚强的人。要穿戴上帝所赐的全副军装，好抵挡魔鬼的诡计。

他说：“犹大众人、耶路撒冷的居民和约沙法王啊，你们要留心听，耶和华对你们如此说：‘不要因这大军恐惧惊惶，因为胜败不在乎你们，而是在乎上帝。
