Look, my father, and see the edge of your robe in my hand! When I cut off the edge of your robe, I didn’t kill you. So realize and understand that I am not planning evil or rebellion. Even though I have not sinned against you, you are waiting in ambush to take my life.

Then I will allow your dynasty to rule over Israel permanently, just as I promised your father David,‘ You will not fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’

Your house and your kingdom will stand before me permanently; your dynasty will be permanent.’”

for you, my God, have revealed to your servant that you will build a dynasty for him. That is why your servant has had the courage to pray to you.

for you, O LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have told your servant,‘ I will build you a dynastic house.’ That is why your servant has had the courage to pray this prayer to you.

and during the time when I appointed judges to lead my people Israel. I will subdue all your enemies.“‘“ I declare to you that the LORD will build a dynastic house for you!

I will give him an eternal dynasty, and make his throne as enduring as the skies above.

and all this assembly will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves! For the battle is the LORD’s, and he will deliver you into our hand.”

He said to David,“ You are more innocent than I, for you have treated me well, even though I have tried to harm you!

Samuel said to him,“ The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day and has given it to one of your colleagues who is better than you!

In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good deeds and give honor to your Father in heaven.

He did this because David had done what he approved and had not disregarded any of his commandments his entire lifetime, except for the incident involving Uriah the Hittite.

Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he praised God and said,“ Certainly this man was innocent!”

And we rightly so, for we are getting what we deserve for what we did, but this man has done nothing wrong.”

How blessed are those whose actions are blameless, who obey the law of the LORD.How blessed are those who observe his rules, and seek him with all their heart,who, moreover, do no wrong, but follow in his footsteps.

He said to his men,“ May the LORD keep me far away from doing such a thing to my lord, who is the LORD’s chosen one, by extending my hand against him. After all, he is the LORD’s chosen one.”David restrained his men with these words and did not allow them to rise up against Saul. Then Saul left the cave and started down the road.

Finally, be strengthened in the Lord and in the strength of his power.Clothe yourselves with the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

He said:“ Pay attention, all you people of Judah, residents of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat! This is what the LORD says to you:‘ Don’t be afraid and don’t panic because of this huge army! For the battle is not yours, but God’s.
