Please forgive me if I have offended you in any way. The Lord will surely reward you with a lasting dynasty, for you are fighting the Lord’s battles. And you have not done wrong throughout your entire life.

掃羅對大衛說：「我要把大女兒米拉嫁給你，但你要英勇作戰，效忠於我，為耶和華爭戰。」掃羅心裡想：「我不要親自動手，我要藉非利士人的手殺他。」

我父請看，你的這塊袍子在我手中。我割下了你的袍角，沒有殺你，現在你應該明白我並未圖謀背叛你。我沒有對不起你，你卻要置我於死地。

我必使你的王位在以色列永遠穩固，正如我曾向你父親大衛應許要使他的王朝永不中斷。

你的家和你的國必在我面前永遠堅立，你的王位必永遠穩固。』」

我的上帝啊，因為你曾啟示僕人，說要為僕人建立王朝，僕人才敢這樣向你祈求。

以色列的上帝——萬軍之耶和華啊，因為你曾啟示僕人，說你要使我家世代為王，僕人才有勇氣這樣向你禱告。

我要使他的後裔永無窮盡，讓他的王位與天同存。

這裡所有的人都必知道耶和華拯救人不靠刀槍，因為祂掌管戰爭的勝負。祂必把你們交在我們手中。」

掃羅對大衛說：「你比我公義，因為你善待我，我卻惡待你。

撒母耳對他說：「耶和華今天已經從你身上拿走了以色列國的王位，賜給了一個比你好的人。

同樣，你們的光也應當照在人面前，好讓他們看見你們的好行為，便讚美你們天上的父。

除了赫人烏利亞事件以外，大衛一生都做耶和華視為正的事，沒有違背耶和華的任何命令。

百夫長見此情形，便讚美上帝，說：「這人的確是個義人。」

我們是罪有應得，但這個人沒有犯過罪。」

行為正直、遵行耶和華律法的人有福了！遵守祂的法度、全心尋求祂的人有福了！他們不做不義的事，只照祂的旨意而行。

她俯伏在大衛腳前說：「我主啊，我願意承擔一切的罪過，請聽婢女說。

從前掃羅做王的時候，率領以色列人出征打仗的是你，耶和華也曾應許讓你做祂以色列子民的牧者和首領。」

他對部下說：「我不該做這樣的事，我主是耶和華所膏立的王，我絕不出手傷害他，因為他是耶和華所膏立的。」大衛用這些話攔住他的部下，不讓他們殺掃羅。掃羅起來離開山洞走了，

最後，你們要靠著主和祂的大能大力作剛強的人，要穿戴上帝所賜的全副軍裝，以便能夠抵擋魔鬼的陰謀。

他說：「全體猶大人、耶路撒冷的居民和約沙法王啊，你們要留心聽！耶和華對你們如此說，『你們不要因敵軍強大而恐懼驚慌，因為戰爭的勝敗不在乎你們，而在乎上帝。
