西弗人动身，在扫罗以先往西弗去。大卫和他的人却在玛云旷野，在荒野南边的亚拉巴。

有人告诉她玛说：“看哪，你的公公上亭拿剪羊毛去了。”

“有一个财主穿着紫色袍和细麻布衣服，天天奢华宴乐。又有一个讨饭的，名叫拉撒路，浑身长疮，被人放在财主门口，想得财主桌子上掉下来的碎食充饥，甚至还有狗来舔他的疮。后来那讨饭的死了，被天使带去放在亚伯拉罕的怀里。财主也死了，并且埋葬了。他在阴间受苦，举目远远地望见亚伯拉罕，又望见拉撒路在他怀里，他就喊着说：‘我祖亚伯拉罕哪，可怜我吧！请打发拉撒路来，用指头尖蘸点水，凉凉我的舌头，因为我在这火焰里，极其痛苦。’亚伯拉罕说：‘孩子啊，你该回想你生前享过福，拉撒路也同样受过苦，如今他在这里得安慰，你却受痛苦。

因为我嫉妒狂傲的人，我看见恶人享平安。他们的力气强壮，他们死的时候也没有疼痛。他们不像别人受苦，也不像别人遭灾。所以，骄傲如链子戴在他们项上，残暴像衣裳覆盖在他们身上。他们的眼睛因体胖而凸出，他们的内心放任不羁。

亚伯兰的牲畜和金银极多。

耶和华啊，求你用手救我脱离世人，脱离那只在今生有福分的世人！你以财宝充满他们的肚腹，他们因有儿女就满足，将其余的财物留给他们的孩子。

大卫的两个妻子，耶斯列人亚希暖和作过拿八妻子的迦密人亚比该，也被掳去了。

这样，耶和华后来赐福给约伯比先前更多。他有一万四千只羊，六千匹骆驼，一千对牛，一千匹母驴。

过了二年，有人在靠近以法莲的巴力‧夏琐为押沙龙剪羊毛。押沙龙请了王所有的儿子来。押沙龙来到王那里，说：“看哪，有人正为你的仆人剪羊毛，请王和王的臣仆与你的仆人同去。”

他就发达，日渐昌盛，成了大富翁。

他的家产有七千只羊，三千匹骆驼，五百对牛，五百匹母驴，并有许多仆婢。这人在东方人中为至大。

巴西莱年纪老迈，已经八十岁了。王住在玛哈念的时候，他拿食物来供给王，因他是个大富翁。
