有人告诉他玛说：“你的公公现在上亭拿去剪羊毛。”

又有玛云、迦密、西弗、淤他、

“有一个财主，身穿紫色袍和细麻衣，天天奢华宴乐。又有一个乞丐，名叫拉撒路，满身是疮，被人放在财主门口，想得财主桌子上掉下来的零碎充饥；并且有狗来舔他的疮。后来乞丐死了，被天使送到亚伯拉罕的怀里。那财主也死了，并且埋葬了。财主在阴间受痛苦，举目远远望见亚伯拉罕，和他怀里的拉撒路，就喊着说：‘我祖亚伯拉罕啊，可怜我吧！打发拉撒路来用指头蘸点水，凉凉我的舌头吧！因为我在这火焰里非常痛苦。’亚伯拉罕说：‘孩子，你应该回想你生前享过福，同样拉撒路受过苦，现在他在这里得安慰，你却要受苦了。

我看见恶人兴隆，我就嫉妒狂傲的人。他们没有痛苦，他们的身体又健康又肥壮（本节原文作“他们到死都没有痛苦，他们的身体肥壮”）。他们没有一般人所受的苦难，也不像普通人一样遭遇灾害。所以，骄傲像链子戴在他们的颈项上，强暴好像衣裳穿在他们的身上。他们的罪孽是出于麻木的心（按照《马索拉文本》，“他们的罪孽是出于麻木的心”应作“他们的眼睛因体胖而凸出”；现参照《七十士译本》翻译），他们心里的恶念泛滥。

亚伯兰有很多牲畜和金银。

耶和华啊！求你用手救我脱离世人，脱离那些只在今生有分的世人。求你用你为他们储存的充满他们的肚腹，使他们的儿女都可以饱尝，他们还有剩余的留给他们的子孙。

大卫的两个妻子，耶斯列人亚希暖和作过拿八妻子的迦密人亚比该，也都被掳去了。

这样，耶和华后来赐给约伯的福比先前更多：他有一万四千只羊、六千匹骆驼、一千对牛、一千头母驴。

两年以后，在以法莲边界的巴力‧夏琐，押沙龙雇了人为他剪羊毛，押沙龙邀请王所有的儿子到那里去。押沙龙去见王说：“看哪！现在你的仆人雇了人剪羊毛；请王和王的臣仆与我一同去。”

他就日渐昌大，越来越富有，成了个大富翁。

他的家产有七千只羊、三千匹骆驼、五百对牛、五百头母驴，并且有许多仆婢。这人在全东方的人中至为尊贵。

巴西莱年纪非常老迈，已经八十岁。王住在玛哈念的时候，是他供养王的，因为他是一个很富有的人。
