David said to his men,“ Each of you strap on your sword!” So they did, and David strapped his on as well. About four hundred men went up with David, while two hundred stayed with the supplies.

David said to his men,“ Each of you put on your swords!” So they did. David put his sword on too. About 400 men went up with David. Two hundred men stayed behind with the supplies.

And David said to his men,“ Every man strap on his sword!” And every man of them strapped on his sword. David also strapped on his sword. And about four hundred men went up after David, while two hundred remained with the baggage.

“ Get your swords!” was David’s reply as he strapped on his own. Then 400 men started off with David, and 200 remained behind to guard their equipment.

He said to his men,“ All of you, put on your swords!” So each man put on his sword, and David also put on his sword. About four hundred men followed David while two hundred stayed with the supplies.

Then David said to his men,“ Each of you strap on his sword.” So each man strapped on his sword. And David also strapped on his sword, and about four hundred men went up behind David, while two hundred stayed with the baggage.

And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword. And they girded on every man his sword; and David also girded on his sword: and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the baggage.

大卫和跟随他的约有六百人，就起身出了基伊拉，往他们所能往的地方去。有人告诉扫罗，大卫离开基伊拉逃走；于是扫罗不出来了。

心无知识的，乃为不善；脚步急快的，难免犯罪。

人有见识就不轻易发怒；宽恕人的过失便是自己的荣耀。

以色列人受了他们些食物，并没有求问耶和华。

随后大卫心中自责，因为割下扫罗的衣襟；对跟随他的人说：“我的主乃是耶和华的受膏者，我在耶和华面前万不敢伸手害他，因他是耶和华的受膏者。”

不轻易发怒的，胜过勇士；治服己心的，强如取城。

亲爱的弟兄，不要自己伸冤，宁可让步，听凭主怒；因为经上记着：“主说：‘伸冤在我，我必报应。’”所以，“你的仇敌若饿了，就给他吃，若渴了，就给他喝；因为你这样行就是把炭火堆在他的头上。”你不可为恶所胜，反要以善胜恶。

不轻易发怒的，大有聪明；性情暴躁的，大显愚妄。

不要冒失出去与人争竞，免得至终被他羞辱，你就不知道怎样行了。

我亲爱的弟兄们，这是你们所知道的。但你们各人要快快地听，慢慢地说，慢慢地动怒，因为人的怒气并不成就神的义。

大卫到了那疲乏不能跟随、留在比梭溪的二百人那里。他们出来迎接大卫并跟随的人。大卫前来问他们安。跟随大卫人中的恶人和匪类说：“这些人既然没有和我们同去，我们所夺的财物就不分给他们，只将他们各人的妻子儿女给他们，使他们带去就是了。”大卫说：“弟兄们，耶和华所赐给我们的，不可不分给他们；因为他保佑我们，将那攻击我们的敌军交在我们手里。这事谁肯依从你们呢？上阵的得多少，看守器具的也得多少；应当大家平分。”

于是，大卫和跟随他的六百人来到比梭溪；有不能前去的就留在那里。大卫却带着四百人往前追赶，有二百人疲乏，不能过比梭溪，所以留在那里。
