豈可以我餅水、及為剪羊毛者所宰之肉、給於不知奚自之人乎、

我餅我水、我所宰之肉、當予剪毛者、豈可賜於不知奚自者乎、

我餅我水、及我為翦羊毛者所宰之肉、豈可予我不知奚自之人乎、

Why should I take my bread and water, and the meat I have slaughtered for my shearers, and give it to men coming from who knows where?”

Why should I give away my bread and water? Why should I give away the meat I’ve prepared for those who clip the wool off my sheep? Why should I give food to men who come from who knows where?”

Shall I take my bread and my water and my meat that I have killed for my shearers and give it to men who come from I do not know where?”

Should I take my bread and my water and my meat that I’ve slaughtered for my shearers and give it to a band of outlaws who come from who knows where?”

Am I supposed to take my bread, my water, and my meat that I butchered for my shearers and give them to these men? I don’t know where they are from.”

Shall I then take my bread and my water and my meat that I have slaughtered for my shearers, and give it to men whose origin I do not know?”

疏割人的领袖回答说：“西巴和撒慕拿的手掌现在已经在你手里，因此我们该将饼送给你的军队吗？”

这人名叫拿八，他的妻子名叫亚比该。拿八的妻子有美好的见识，又有美丽的容貌，但拿八为人刚愎凶恶，是迦勒族的人。

所以，一有机会就要向众人行善，向信徒一家的人更要这样。

拿八的一个仆人告诉拿八的妻子亚比该说：“看哪，大卫从旷野派使者来向我主人问安，主人却辱骂他们。但是那些人待我们真好；我们在田野与他们一切来往的日子，没有受他们欺负，也未曾失去什么。

当将你的粮食撒在水面上，因为日子久了，你必能得着它。将你所拥有的分给七人，或八人，因为你不知道会有什么灾祸临到地上。

古人有句俗语说：‘恶事出于恶人。’我却不亲手加害于你。

你心里说：‘这财富是我的力量、我手的能力得来的。’

你们要互相款待，不发怨言。

他们的眼睛因体胖而凸出，他们的内心放任不羁。他们讥笑人，凭恶意说欺压人的话。他们说话自高；

或独自吃自己的食物，孤儿没有吃其中些许；

似乎不为人所知，却是人所共知；似乎是死了，却是活着；似乎受惩罚，却没有被处死；

上帝对摩西说话是我们知道的，可是这个人，我们不知道他从哪里来。”那人回答，对他们说：“他开了我的眼睛，你们竟不知道他从哪里来，这真是奇怪！
