I shouldn’t attack the Lord’s anointed one, for the Lord himself has chosen him.”

the triumph of the wicked has been short lived and the joy of the godless has been only temporary?

“ God has surely handed your enemy over to you this time!” Abishai whispered to David.“ Let me pin him to the ground with one thrust of the spear; I won’t need to strike twice!”“ No!” David said.“ Don’t kill him. For who can remain innocent after attacking the Lord’s anointed one?

For my enemies are whispering against me. They are plotting together to kill me.They say,“ God has abandoned him. Let’s go and get him, for no one will help him now.”

David now stayed in the strongholds of the wilderness and in the hill country of Ziph. Saul hunted him day after day, but God didn’t let Saul find him.

Then Pharaoh will think,‘ The Israelites are confused. They are trapped in the wilderness!’

“ The enemy boasted,‘ I will chase them and catch up with them. I will plunder them and consume them. I will flash my sword; my powerful hand will destroy them.’

Word soon spread that Samson was there, so the men of Gaza gathered together and waited all night at the town gates. They kept quiet during the night, saying to themselves,“ When the light of morning comes, we will kill him.”But Samson stayed in bed only until midnight. Then he got up, took hold of the doors of the town gate, including the two posts, and lifted them up, bar and all. He put them on his shoulders and carried them all the way to the top of the hill across from Hebron.

Before long your enemies will build ramparts against your walls and encircle you and close in on you from every side.They will crush you into the ground, and your children with you. Your enemies will not leave a single stone in place, because you did not recognize it when God visited you.”
