that the exulting of the wicked is short, and the joy of the godless but for a moment?

Then Abishai said to David,“ God has given your enemy into your hand this day. Now please let me pin him to the earth with one stroke of the spear, and I will not strike him twice.”But David said to Abishai,“ Do not destroy him, for who can put out his hand against the Lord’s anointed and be guiltless?”

For my enemies speak concerning me; those who watch for my life consult togetherand say,“ God has forsaken him; pursue and seize him, for there is none to deliver him.”

And David remained in the strongholds in the wilderness, in the hill country of the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God did not give him into his hand.
