過兩天就是逾越節和除酵節了。祭司長們和經文士們在圖謀怎樣用詭計拘捕耶穌，把他殺掉。

出賣耶穌的猶大也知道那地方，因為耶穌經常在那裡與他的門徒們一同聚集。於是猶大領著一隊士兵，還有祭司長們和法利賽人的差役們，帶著燈籠、火把、兵器來到那裡。

因為他們的腳向惡事奔跑，他們快速地殺人流血。

因此我建議，把以色列全軍從但到比爾-謝巴都招聚到你這裡，他們多如海邊的沙粒；你親自率領出戰，不管他在哪裡被發現，我們就過去，臨到他如同露水落在地上。這樣，他和所有隨同的人，一個也不會存留。如果他撤到城裡，以色列全軍就拿繩子圍繞那城，把城拖到溪谷裡去，使原處連一粒石子也找不到。」

那時候，加略人猶大，就是十二使徒中的一個，到祭司長們那裡去，要把耶穌交給他們。他們聽了就歡喜，並且許諾給他銀錢。於是猶大就圖謀怎樣找機會把耶穌交出去。
