為了殺人流血，他們的腳步飛快，在經過的路上留下毀滅和悲慘。

伯利恆以法他啊！你在猶大諸城中雖然細小（“伯利恆……細小”有古卷作“以法他家啊，你在猶大諸族中雖然細小”），必有一位從你那裡出來，為我作以色列的統治者；他的根源從太初，從亙古就有了。（本節在《馬索拉文本》為5:1）

我指著永活的耶和華你的神起誓，沒有一邦一國我主人不派人去找你的，人們若是說你不在那裡，他就要那國邦起誓說實在找不到你。

過兩天，就是逾越節和除酵節了，祭司長和經學家設法怎樣用詭計逮捕耶穌，把他殺害。他們說：“不可在節期下手，免得引起民眾暴動。”

出賣耶穌的猶大也知道那地方，因為耶穌和門徒常常在那裡聚集。那時，猶大帶著一隊兵，還有祭司長和法利賽人的差役，拿著燈籠、火把、武器，來到園子裡。

因為他們的腳奔向邪惡，他們急於流人的血。

因此，我建議把以色列眾人，從但到別是巴，都聚集到你這裡來，好像海邊的沙那樣多，然後你親自率領他們上戰場。無論我們在哪一個地方找到大衛，就攻擊他；我們臨到他，像露水降在地上一樣。這樣，他和跟隨他的人，就一個也不會留下。如果他退入城裡去，以色列眾人就要帶繩子到那城去，我們要把那城拉到河裡去，使那裡連一塊小石頭也找不到。”

十二門徒中的一個，就是加略人猶大，去見祭司長，要把耶穌交給他們。他們聽見了就很歡喜，答應給他銀子。於是猶大就找機會出賣耶穌。
