大衛又說：「基伊拉人會把我和我的人交在掃羅手裏嗎？」耶和華說：「他們會交出來。」

義人的心願盡是好的；惡人的指望卻帶來憤怒。

那些與拿伯同城居住的長老和貴族，照耶洗別送給他們的信去做。正如她送的信上所寫，他們宣告禁食，叫拿伯坐在百姓的高位上。有兩個無賴來，坐在拿伯對面。無賴當着百姓作證告他說：「拿伯詛咒神和王了！」眾人就把他拉到城外，用石頭打他，他就死了。於是他們派人到耶洗別那裏，說：「拿伯被石頭打死了。」

求王恩的人多；人獲公正來自耶和華。

「利未人若離開他在以色列中所居住的任何一座城，一心願意到耶和華所選擇的地方，

惡人看見就憤怒，必咬牙而消亡，惡人的心願要歸於幻滅。

因為陌生人興起攻擊我，強橫的人尋索我的性命；他們眼中沒有神。（細拉）

押尼珥對大衛說：「我要起身去召集全以色列，來到我主我王這裏，與你立約，你就可以照你的心願作王，統治一切。」於是大衛送走押尼珥，他就平安地去了。

王宮總管、市長和長老，並教養眾兒子的人，派人到耶戶那裏，說：「我們是你的僕人，凡你所吩咐的，我們都必遵行。我們不立誰作王，你看怎樣好就怎樣做吧。」耶戶寫第二封信給他們，說：「你們若歸順我，聽從我的話，明日這時候，要帶着你們主人眾兒子的首級，來到耶斯列我這裏。」那時王的兒子七十人都住在城中教養他們的那些尊貴人家裏。信一到他們那裏，他們就把王的七十個兒子殺了，將首級裝在筐裏，送到耶斯列，耶戶那裏。
