Now, Your Majesty, come down whenever it pleases you to do so, and we will be responsible for giving him into your hands.”

大衛又說：「基伊拉人將我和跟隨我的人交在掃羅手裏不交？」耶和華說：「必交出來。」

義人的心願盡得好處；惡人的指望致干忿怒。

那些與拿伯同城居住的長老貴冑得了耶洗別的信，就照信而行，宣告禁食，叫拿伯坐在民間的高位上。有兩個匪徒來，坐在拿伯的對面，當着眾民作見證告他說：「拿伯謗瀆神和王了！」眾人就把他拉到城外，用石頭打死。於是打發人去見耶洗別，說：「拿伯被石頭打死了。」

求王恩的人多；定人事乃在耶和華。

「利未人無論寄居在以色列中的哪一座城，若從那裏出來，一心願意到耶和華所選擇的地方，

惡人看見便惱恨，必咬牙而消化；惡人的心願要歸滅絕。

因為，外人起來攻擊我，強暴人尋索我的命；他們眼中沒有神。（細拉）

押尼珥對大衛說：「我要起身去招聚以色列眾人來見我主我王，與你立約，你就可以照着心願作王。」於是大衛送押尼珥去，押尼珥就平平安安地去了。

家宰、邑宰，和長老，並教養眾子的人，打發人去見耶戶，說：「我們是你的僕人，凡你所吩咐我們的都必遵行，我們不立誰作王，你看怎樣好就怎樣行。」耶戶又給他們寫信說：「你們若歸順我，聽從我的話，明日這時候，要將你們主人眾子的首級帶到耶斯列來見我。」那時王的兒子七十人都住在教養他們那城中的尊貴人家裏。信一到，他們就把王的七十個兒子殺了，將首級裝在筐裏，送到在耶斯列的耶戶那裏。
