大卫又问耶和华：“基伊拉的人会不会把我和我的部下交给扫罗呢？”耶和华说：“他们一定会。”

义人的愿望结出善果，恶人的希望招致烈怒。

与拿伯同居一城的长老和贵族接到来信，便依照信里的指示行事。他们宣告禁食，让拿伯在百姓中坐首位，又叫两名无赖当众作证指控拿伯咒诅上帝和君王。然后众人把拿伯拖出城外，用石头打死了他。事情办好了以后，他们就派人去把拿伯被石头打死的消息告诉耶洗别。

许多人讨君王的欢心，但正义伸张靠耶和华。

“以色列境内任何地方的利未人若愿意离开自己所住的城，去耶和华选定的地方，

恶人见状，必然恼怒，咬牙切齿，气绝身亡。恶人的盼望必破灭。

因为傲慢的人起来攻击我，目无上帝的暴徒正寻索我的性命。（细拉）

押尼珥对大卫说：“我要为我主我王招聚所有的以色列人，跟你立约，你便可以如愿以偿，统治全以色列。”于是大卫为他送行，他就平安地回去了。

宫廷总管、总督、长老和众监护人便派人送信给耶户，说：“我们是你的仆人，你怎样吩咐，我们就怎样做。我们不会立任何人为王，你认为怎样好，就怎样办吧。”耶户又写了一封信，说：“如果你们归顺我，愿意听从我，明天这个时候，带着你们主人子孙的首级来耶斯列见我。”当时亚哈的七十个子孙都养在城中显贵的府中。这些显贵们接到信后，便杀了亚哈的七十个子孙，把他们的首级放在篮子里，送到耶斯列的耶户那里。
