約拿單謂大闢曰、以色列之上帝耶和華為證、明日此時、或至後日、我問於父、若知爾沾恩而不以告、則願耶和華罰我。如父欲害爾、我必告爾、使爾安然以去、願耶和華祐爾、如祐我父焉。爾緣耶和華施恩於我、不第在我存時、既我沒後、耶和華除大闢諸敵於天下、爾亦必施恩於我家、歲恆不絕。約拿單與大闢全家立約、曰、不守此約者、為大闢敵、願耶和華責之。約拿單與大闢相愛如命、故皆發誓。
