你是我藏身之處，你必保佑我脫離苦難，以得救的歡呼四面環繞我。（細拉）

沒有人能以智慧、聰明、謀略抵擋耶和華。

他們若不行惡，難以成眠，不使人跌倒，就睡臥不安；

既是這樣，我們對這些事還要怎麼說呢？神若幫助我們，誰能抵擋我們呢？

大衛心裏說：「總有一天我會死在掃羅手裏，現在我最好逃到非利士人的地去，掃羅就會絕望，不會繼續在以色列全境內尋索我了。這樣，我才可以脫離他的手。」

惡人窺探義人，想要殺他。耶和華必不把他交在惡人手中，當審判的時候，也不定他的罪。

有人告訴掃羅，大衛到了基伊拉。掃羅說：「神將他交在我手裏了，因為他進了有門有閂的城，把自己關起來了。」

因為他們的腳奔跑行惡，他們急速殺人流血。

王吩咐王的兒子耶拉篾、亞斯列的兒子西萊雅和亞伯疊的兒子示利米雅，去捉拿巴錄文士和耶利米先知；耶和華卻將他們隱藏起來。

我投靠耶和華；你們怎麼對我說：「你當像鳥逃到你們的山去；看哪，惡人彎弓，把箭搭在弦上，要在暗中射那心裏正直的人。根基若毀壞，義人還能做甚麼呢？」

惟有主站在我身邊，加給我力量，使我能把福音完整地傳開，讓所有的外邦人都聽見；我也從獅子口裏被救出來。主必救我脫離一切的兇惡，也必救我進他的天國。願榮耀歸給他，直到永永遠遠。阿們！

以及我在安提阿、以哥念、路司得所遭遇的迫害和苦難。我忍受了何等的迫害！但從這一切苦難中，主都把我救了出來。
