惟獨你是我的隱匿處；願你守護着我脫離患難，以解救之歡呼四面環繞着我。（細拉）

沒有智慧、沒有明達、沒有謀略能敵得過永恆主。

因為他們若不行惡，就睡不着覺；若不使人跌倒，其安眠就被奪去。

既然如此，對這些事我們可怎麼說呢？上帝若為我們，誰能敵我們呢？

大衛心裏說：『如今看來，總有一天我會被收拾在掃羅手裏的；最好莫如逃跑到非利士人之地去；掃羅對我就必絕望、再也不在以色列全境尋索我了；這樣、我便可以逃脫他的手了。』

惡人窺伺着義人，想法子要殺死他。永恆主卻不撇棄他於惡人手中，當審判時也不定他為惡。

有人告訴掃羅說：『大衛到了基伊拉了』；掃羅說：『他進了有門有閂的城，自己關閉在裏頭；這是上帝將他交付於我手了。』

因為他們的腳奔跑行壞事；他們倉惶急迫地流人的血。

王竟吩咐王子耶拉篾、亞次列的兒子西萊雅、和亞伯疊的兒子示利米雅去捉拿祕書巴錄和神言人耶利米；然而永恆主卻將他們隱藏着。

我是避難於永恆主裏面的；你們怎能對我說：『你要像鳥逃往山上去呢？看哪，惡人拉緊了弓，把箭搭在弦上，要在暗中射那心裏正直的人。根基若毁壞，義人還能作甚麼？』

然而主卻站在我旁邊，給我能力，使該宣傳的藉着我都得傳盡，而外國人都聽見，我也得救援、脫離獅子的口。主必援救我脫離各樣兇惡的事，也救護我進他屬天之國。願榮耀歸於他，世世無窮！阿們。

堅忍、我受的逼迫、我受的苦；在安提阿、在以哥念、在路司得、我遭遇到何等事，我擔受了何等的逼迫；這一切、主都援救我脫離了。
