任何的智慧、聪慧和谋略，都无法在耶和华面前站立得住。

要知道，这些人如果不作恶就睡不着觉，不绊倒人就睡卧不安；

那么，对这些事我们要怎么说呢？神如果支持我们，谁还能反对我们呢？

大卫心里说：“我总有一天会死在扫罗手中，已经别无选择，只能逃到非利士人之地；这样，扫罗就会放弃，不会继续在以色列全境寻索我，我也就逃脱他的手了。”

恶人窥伺义人，寻机置他于死地；但耶和华必不将他离弃在恶人的手中；在审判的时候，也不定他有罪。

有人告诉扫罗：“大卫到了基伊拉。”扫罗就说：“神把他交在我手中了，因为他进入一座有门有闩的城，把自己关在里面了。”

因为他们的脚向恶事奔跑，他们快速地杀人流血。

我投靠了耶和华，你们怎能对我说“你要像雀鸟那样逃到自己的山里”呢？看哪，恶人拉开弓，在弦上备好箭，要在幽暗中射那心里正直的人！如果根基被毁，义人还能做什么呢？

但是主站在我身边，使我刚强，为要藉着我使传道得以完成，让所有外邦人都能听见；我也从狮子口里被救了出来。主将会救我脱离一切凶恶之事，并且救我进入他属天的国度。愿荣耀归于他，直到永永远远！阿们。

以及我在安提阿、以哥念、路司得所遭受的逼迫和苦难——我忍受了何等的逼迫啊！可是主救我脱离了这一切。
