任何智慧、悟性和謀略，都不能對抗耶和華。

因為他們不作惡就無法入睡，不絆倒人就無法安眠；

對於這些事，我們還可以說什麼呢？上帝若幫助我們，誰能與我們對抗？

大衛心裡想：「終有一天，我會死在掃羅手裡，我最好逃到非利士人那裡。這樣，掃羅就不會在以色列到處追捕我了，我便可以逃離他的手。」

惡人窺探義人，伺機謀害。但耶和華不會讓惡人得逞，也不會讓義人在審判時被定罪。

掃羅得知大衛在基伊拉，就說：「這一次是上帝把他交在我手中了，因為他竟然自投網羅，進入有門有閂的城。」

因為他們奔向罪惡，急速地去殺人流血。

還命令自己的兒子耶拉篾、亞斯列的兒子西萊雅和亞伯德的兒子示利米雅去拘捕書記巴錄和耶利米先知。但耶和華把他們藏了起來。

我投靠耶和華，你們怎能對我說：「要像飛鳥一樣逃到山裡。看啊，惡人彎弓搭箭，要暗射心地正直的人。根基若遭毀壞，義人還能做什麼？」

然而主站在我身旁加給我力量，使我可以把福音清楚地傳給外族人。主把我從獅子口裡救了出來。主必救我脫離一切兇險，帶我進入祂的天國。願榮耀歸給上帝，直到永永遠遠。阿們！

也知道我在安提阿、以哥念、路司得遭遇了何等的迫害和苦難。但主從這一切患難中救了我。
