有人在这城迫害你们，就逃到另一城去。我实在告诉你们，以色列的城镇，你们还没有走遍，人子就要来临。

便雅悯人和犹大人中有人来到山寨大卫那里。

“这百姓说同谋背叛的，你们不要说同谋背叛。他们所怕的，你们不要怕，也不要畏惧；但要尊万军之耶和华为圣，他才是你们所当怕的，所当畏惧的。他必作为圣所，却向以色列的两家成为绊脚的石头，使人跌倒的磐石；作耶路撒冷居民的罗网和圈套。

大卫王自始至终的事迹，看哪，都写在撒母耳先见的书上、拿单先知的书上和迦得先见的书上，

有人告诉大卫说：“看哪，非利士人攻击基伊拉，抢夺禾场。”大卫求问耶和华说：“我可以去吗？我可以去攻打那些非利士人吗？”耶和华对大卫说：“你可以去攻打非利士人，拯救基伊拉。”大卫的人对他说：“看哪，我们在犹大这里尚且惧怕，何况到基伊拉去攻打非利士人的军队呢？”大卫又再求问耶和华，耶和华回答说：“你起身下基伊拉去，我必将非利士人交在你手里。”于是大卫和他的人往基伊拉去，与非利士人打仗，大大击败他们，夺取他们的牲畜。这样，大卫救了基伊拉的居民。亚希米勒的儿子亚比亚他逃往基伊拉到大卫那里的时候，手里拿着以弗得。

大卫早晨起来，耶和华的话临到迦得先知，就是大卫的先见，说：
