From there David went to Mizpah in Moab and said to the king of Moab,“ Would you let my father and mother come and stay with you until I learn what God will do for me?”

From there David went to Mizpah in Moab. He spoke to the king of Moab. He said,“ Please let my father and mother come and stay with you. Let them stay until I learn what God will do for me.”

And David went from there to Mizpeh of Moab. And he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and my mother stay with you, till I know what God will do for me.”

Later David went to Mizpeh in Moab, where he asked the king,“ Please allow my father and mother to live here with you until I know what God is going to do for me.”

From there David went to Mizpeh of Moab where he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and mother stay with you until I know what God will do for me.”

And David went from there to Mizpah of Moab; and he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and my mother come and stay with you until I know what God will do for me.”

Then David went from there to Mizpah of Moab; and he said to the king of Moab,“ Please let my father and mother come here with you, till I know what God will do for me.”

And David went thence to Mizpeh of Moab: and he said unto the king of Moab, Let my father and my mother, I pray thee, come forth, and be with you, till I know what God will do for me.

扫罗取得了以色列的王国以后，常常攻打四围的一切仇敌，就是摩押人、亚扪人、以东人、琐巴众王和非利士人，他无论往哪里去，都得到胜利（按照《马索拉文本》，“得到胜利”作“惩罚”或“行邪恶”；现参照《七十士译本》翻译）。

神说：‘当孝敬父母’，又说：‘咒骂父母的必被处死’。你们却说：‘人若对父母说：“我应该给你们的，已经作了献给神的礼物”，他就可以不孝敬父母了。’你们因为你们的传统，就废弃了神的话。

所以，等我看出自己的事会怎样了结之后，我希望立刻差他去；而且靠着主，我相信自己不久也会去。

在士师统治期间，国内发生了饥荒。有一个人带着妻子和两个儿子，从犹大的伯利恒前往摩押地去，寄居在那里。这个人名叫以利米勒，妻子名叫拿俄米，两个儿子叫玛伦和基连，都是犹大伯利恒的以法他人。他们到了摩押地，就在那里住下来了。后来拿俄米的丈夫以利米勒去世了，留下她和两个儿子。他们娶了摩押女子作妻子，一个名叫俄耳巴，一个名叫路得。他们在那里住了约有十年。

那时耶和华的灵临到耶弗他身上，他就经过基列和玛拿西，经过基列的米斯巴，又从基列的米斯巴去到亚扪人那里。

我也娶了（“娶了”原文作“买了”）玛伦的妻子摩押女子路得作妻子，使已死的人的名字留在他的产业上，免得他的名字在本族本乡中除掉。今天你们都是见证人。”

王对撒督说：“把神的约柜抬回城里去吧！我若是在耶和华眼前蒙恩，他必使我回来再看到约柜和他安居的地方。他若是说：‘我不喜悦你。’看哪！我就在这里，他看怎样好，就怎样对待我吧！”

于是撒母耳把一切话都告诉了以利，一句也没有隐瞒。以利说：“他是耶和华，他看怎么好，就怎么行吧。”

“要孝敬父母，使你在耶和华你的神赐给你的地上得享长寿。

邻近的妇女要给他起名字，说：“拿俄米生了孩子了。”就给他起名叫俄备得；这俄备得是耶西的父亲，耶西是大卫的父亲。

约瑟照着法老的吩咐安置他的父亲和兄弟们，把兰塞地，就是埃及地最好的地方，给他们作产业。

寡妇若有儿孙，就应当让儿孙先在自己家里学习孝道，报答亲恩，因为这在神面前是蒙悦纳的。
