王對祭司亞比亞他說：「你回亞拿突歸自己的田地去吧！你本是該死的，但因你在我父親大衛面前擡過主耶和華的約櫃，又與我父親同受一切苦難，所以我今日不將你殺死。」

我們既有這許多的見證人，如同雲彩圍着我們，就當放下各樣的重擔，脫去容易纏累我們的罪，存心忍耐，奔那擺在我們前頭的路程，仰望為我們信心創始成終的耶穌。他因那擺在前面的喜樂，就輕看羞辱，忍受了十字架的苦難，便坐在神寶座的右邊。那忍受罪人這樣頂撞的，你們要思想，免得疲倦灰心。

我又賜給他們永生；他們永不滅亡，誰也不能從我手裏把他們奪去。我父把羊賜給我，他比萬有都大，誰也不能從我父手裏把他們奪去。我與父原為一。」

這要應驗耶穌從前的話，說：「你所賜給我的人，我沒有失落一個。」

你們要記念我從前對你們所說的話：『僕人不能大於主人。』他們若逼迫了我，也要逼迫你們；若遵守了我的話，也要遵守你們的話。

人要把你們趕出會堂，並且時候將到，凡殺你們的就以為是事奉神。他們這樣行，是因未曾認識父，也未曾認識我。

那時，人要把你們陷在患難裏，也要殺害你們；你們又要為我的名被萬民恨惡。

我與他們同在的時候，因你所賜給我的名保守了他們，我也護衛了他們；其中除了那滅亡之子，沒有一個滅亡的，好叫經上的話得應驗。
