所以必有哄嚷之声攻击你的众民，你的一切城堡都必被毁坏，正如沙勒幔在争战的日子毁坏伯．亚比勒一般，有母亲与儿女一同在那里被摔死。

但扫罗和众人怜惜亚甲，也爱惜上好的牛羊、肥牛犊、羊羔和一切美好的东西。他们不愿彻底毁灭这些；凡是卑贱的、没有价值的，他们就彻底毁灭。

有些住在亚拿突、挪伯、亚难雅、

他们把城中的一切，无论男女老幼、牛羊和驴，都用刀杀尽。

因为对不行怜悯的人，审判他们的时候就没有怜悯；怜悯胜过审判。

就在今日，亚述王要停留在挪伯；他要挥拳攻击锡安居民（“居民”原文作“女子”）的山，就是耶路撒冷的山。

这城要完全毁灭，城和城中的一切都归耶和华；只有妓女喇合，和所有与她在家中的都可以存活，因为她收藏了我们派去的使者。

大卫到了挪伯祭司亚希米勒那里，亚希米勒战战兢兢地迎接大卫，对他说：“你为什么独自一人，没有人跟随你呢？”（本节在《马索拉文本》为21:2）

那时以东人多益与扫罗的臣仆侍立在那里，他回答说：“我曾看见耶西的儿子到了挪伯亚希突的儿子亚希米勒那里。
