于是王对多益说：“你转过去把祭司击杀。”以东人多益就转过去把祭司击杀了。那一天，他杀了八十五个穿细麻布以弗得的人，

於是王對多益說：『你轉身去把祭司殺掉。』以東人多益就轉身去把祭司殺掉；那一天他殺死了八十五個人、都是帶着神諭像的。

於是王對多益說：「你過去擊殺祭司們。」以東人多益就過去擊殺那些祭司。那天他殺了八十五個佩戴細麻布以弗得的人，

王謂多益曰、爾往擊之、以東人多益遂擊祭司、當日殺衣枲聖衣者、八十五人、

The king then ordered Doeg,“ You turn and strike down the priests.” So Doeg the Edomite turned and struck them down. That day he killed eighty-five men who wore the linen ephod.

Then the king ordered Doeg,“ You go and strike down the priests.” So Doeg, the Edomite, went and struck them down. That day he killed 85 priests who wore linen aprons.

Then the king said to Doeg,“ You turn and strike the priests.” And Doeg the Edomite turned and struck down the priests, and he killed on that day eighty-five persons who wore the linen ephod.

Then the king said to Doeg,“ You do it.” So Doeg the Edomite turned on them and killed them that day, eighty five priests in all, still wearing their priestly garments.

So the king said to Doeg,“ Go and execute the priests!” So Doeg the Edomite went and executed the priests himself. On that day, he killed eighty-five men who wore linen ephods.

Then the king said to Doeg,“ You, turn around and attack the priests!” And Doeg the Edomite turned around and attacked the priests, and he killed on that day eighty five men who wore the linen ephod.

And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and he slew on that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod.

So the king said to Doeg,“ Go and execute the priests!” So Doeg the Edomite went and executed the priests himself. On that day, he killed 85 men who wore linen ephods.

But Samuel ministered before the Lord, even as a child, wearing a linen ephod.

Therefore the Lord God of Israel says:‘ I said indeed that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever.’ But now the Lord says:‘ Far be it from Me; for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.Behold, the days are coming that I will cut off your arm and the arm of your father’s house, so that there will not be an old man in your house.And you will see an enemy in My dwelling place, despite all the good which God does for Israel. And there shall not be an old man in your house forever.But any of your men whom I do not cut off from My altar shall consume your eyes and grieve your heart. And all the descendants of your house shall die in the flower of their age.

This I also did in Jerusalem, and many of the saints I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I cast my vote against them.And I punished them often in every synagogue and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities.

In that day I will perform against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from beginning to end.For I have told him that I will judge his house forever for the iniquity which he knows, because his sons made themselves vile, and he did not restrain them.And therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be atoned for by sacrifice or offering forever.”

They make a king glad with their wickedness, And princes with their lies.

“ For Aaron’s sons you shall make tunics, and you shall make sashes for them. And you shall make hats for them, for glory and beauty.

For the statutes of Omri are kept; All the works of Ahab’s house are done; And you walk in their counsels, That I may make you a desolation, And your inhabitants a hissing. Therefore you shall bear the reproach of My people.”

And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left in your house will come and bow down to him for a piece of silver and a morsel of bread, and say,“ Please, put me in one of the priestly positions, that I may eat a piece of bread.”’”

Her princes in her midst are roaring lions; Her judges are evening wolves That leave not a bone till morning.

Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, Because he willingly walked by human precept.

Did I not choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be My priest, to offer upon My altar, to burn incense, and to wear an ephod before Me? And did I not give to the house of your father all the offerings of the children of Israel made by fire?

So they conspired against him, and at the command of the king they stoned him with stones in the court of the house of the Lord.
