The king then ordered Doeg,“ You turn and strike down the priests.” So Doeg the Edomite turned and struck them down. That day he killed eighty-five men who wore the linen ephod.

Then the king ordered Doeg,“ You go and strike down the priests.” So Doeg, the Edomite, went and struck them down. That day he killed 85 priests who wore linen aprons.

Then the king said to Doeg,“ You turn and strike the priests.” And Doeg the Edomite turned and struck down the priests, and he killed on that day eighty-five persons who wore the linen ephod.

Then the king said to Doeg,“ You do it.” So Doeg the Edomite turned on them and killed them that day, eighty five priests in all, still wearing their priestly garments.

So the king said to Doeg,“ Go and execute the priests!” So Doeg the Edomite went and executed the priests himself. On that day, he killed eighty-five men who wore linen ephods.

Then the king said to Doeg,“ You, turn around and attack the priests!” And Doeg the Edomite turned around and attacked the priests, and he killed on that day eighty five men who wore the linen ephod.

And the king said to Doeg,“ You turn and kill the priests!” So Doeg the Edomite turned and struck the priests, and killed on that day eighty-five men who wore a linen ephod.

And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and he slew on that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod.

So the king said to Doeg,“ Go and execute the priests!” So Doeg the Edomite went and executed the priests himself. On that day, he killed 85 men who wore linen ephods.

那时，撒母耳还是个孩童，束着细麻布的以弗得，在耶和华面前事奉。

因此，耶和华以色列的神说：‘我曾说：你的家和你的父家，必永远行在我面前。’现在耶和华却说：‘我决不容你们这样行了，因为尊重我的，我必尊重他；藐视我的，必受到轻视。日子快到了，我要砍下你和你父亲的膀臂，使你家中再没有有权势的长者。我赐给以色列人的一切福分，你必像一个对头，以嫉妒的眼光来看；而在你的家中，必永远再没有有权势的长者。我必不从我的祭坛那里灭绝你家的人，免得你的眼睛昏花，心灵忧伤，但所有你家中增添的人都必像世人一样死去（按照《七十士译本》和《死海古卷》，“像世人一样死去”作“死在人的刀下”）。

后来就在耶路撒冷这样作了。我得到了众祭司长授权，把许多圣徒关在监里，并且他们被杀的时候，我也表示同意。我在各会堂里多次用刑强迫他们说亵渎的话；我非常愤恨他们，甚至追到国外的城巿去迫害他们。

在那日，我必在以利身上彻底实现我论到他的家所说的一切话。我曾告诉他：‘我必按着他所知道的罪孽永远处罚他的家。这罪就是他的儿子自招咒诅，他也不责备他们。’所以我向以利家起了誓：‘以利家的罪孽永远不能用祭物或供物来买赎。’”

他们以自己的恶行讨王欢喜，用自己的虚谎叫领袖快乐。

“你也要为亚伦的儿子做内袍，为他们做腰带，又为他们做头巾，使他们有荣耀，有华美。

你跟随了暗利的规例和亚哈家一切所行的，顺从了他们的计谋；因此，我必使你荒凉，使你（“你”原文作“她”）的居民被嗤笑；你们也必担当我民的羞辱。

你家中剩下的人，都要来向他下拜；求一个银币，一块饼，也要说：求你容我参与祭司的职务，使我可以有点饼吃。’”

城中的领袖都是咆哮的狮子，城中的审判官是夜间的豺狼，什么都不留到早晨。

以法莲受欺压，被审判压碎；因为他们乐意随从人的命令。

我不是从以色列众支派中，选出他们作我的祭司，上我的坛烧香，在我面前穿以弗得吗？我不是把以色列人所献的火祭，都赐给了你的父家吗？

众人要杀害撒迦利亚，于是照着王的命令，在耶和华殿的院子里用石头把他打死。
