“ We don’t have any regular bread,” the priest replied.“ But there is the holy bread, which you can have if your young men have not slept with any women recently.”

祭司答道：“我们没有普通的饼，只有圣饼，如果你的部下没有亲近过女色，就可以吃。”

祭司回答大卫：“我手中没有普通的饼，只有圣饼。只有那些没有亲近过女人的年轻人，才可以吃的。”

祭司回答大卫说：“我手中没有普通的饼，只有圣饼。如果那些年轻人谨守自己，确实没有亲近女人，就可以给。”

祭司對大衛說：「我手下沒有尋常的餅，只有聖餅；若少年人沒有親近婦人才可以給。」

祭司對大衛說：「我手中沒有普通的餅，只有聖餅，只能給沒有親近婦人的年輕人。」

祭司對大衛說：「我手中沒有普通的餅，只有聖餅，只能給沒有親近婦人的年輕人。」

祭司答道：「我們沒有普通的餅，只有聖餅，如果你的部下沒有親近過女色，就可以吃。」

祭司回答大衛：“我手中沒有普通的餅，只有聖餅。只有那些沒有親近過女人的年輕人，才可以吃的。”

祭司回答大衛說：『我手下沒有平常的餅，只有聖餅；只要青年人已經自守沒有親近婦人就可以拿。』

祭司回答大衛說：「我手中沒有普通的餅，只有聖餅。如果那些年輕人謹守自己，確實沒有親近女人，就可以給。」

祭司曰、我手中無常餅、聖餅則有之、惟僕從不近婦女、乃可給焉、

祭司對曰、常餅未有、聖餅有之、如少者近不御婦女、則可給焉。

But the priest answered David,“ I don’t have any ordinary bread on hand; however, there is some consecrated bread here— provided the men have kept themselves from women.”

But the priest answered David,“ I don’t have any bread that isn’t holy. I only have some holy bread here. But it’s for men who haven’t slept with women recently.”

And the priest answered David,“ I have no common bread on hand, but there is holy bread— if the young men have kept themselves from women.”

The priest told him,“ There is no ordinary bread on hand. However, there is consecrated bread, but the young men may eat it only if they have kept themselves from women.”

The priest answered David and said,“ There is no ordinary bread on hand, but there is consecrated bread, if only the young men have kept themselves from women.”

And the priest answered David and said,“ There is no common bread on hand; but there is holy bread, if the young men have at least kept themselves from women.”

And the priest answered David, and said, There is no common bread under my hand, but there is holy bread; if only the young men have kept themselves from women.

The priest told him,“ There is no ordinary bread on hand. However, there is consecrated bread, but the young men may eat it only if they have kept themselves from women.”

And the priest answered David, and said,[ There is] no common bread under mine hand, but there is hallowed bread; if the young men have kept themselves at least from women.

The priest replied to David,“ I don’t have any ordinary bread at my disposal. Only holy bread is available, and then only if your soldiers have abstained from sexual relations with women.”

The priest answered David, and said,“ I have no common bread, but there is holy bread; if only the young men have kept themselves from women.”

He told them,“ Get ready for the third day, and until then abstain from having sexual intercourse.”

Place the Bread of the Presence on the table to remain before me at all times.

Jesus said to them,“ Haven’t you read in the Scriptures what David did when he and his companions were hungry?He went into the house of God, and he and his companions broke the law by eating the sacred loaves of bread that only the priests are allowed to eat.

“ You must bake twelve flat loaves of bread from choice flour, using four quarts of flour for each loaf.Place the bread before the Lord on the pure gold table, and arrange the loaves in two stacks, with six loaves in each stack.Put some pure frankincense near each stack to serve as a representative offering, a special gift presented to the Lord.Every Sabbath day this bread must be laid out before the Lord as a gift from the Israelites; it is an ongoing expression of the eternal covenant.The loaves of bread will belong to Aaron and his descendants, who must eat them in a sacred place, for they are most holy. It is the permanent right of the priests to claim this portion of the special gifts presented to the Lord.”

Since there was no other food available, the priest gave him the holy bread— the Bread of the Presence that was placed before the Lord in the Tabernacle. It had just been replaced that day with fresh bread.

Do not deprive each other of sexual relations, unless you both agree to refrain from sexual intimacy for a limited time so you can give yourselves more completely to prayer. Afterward, you should come together again so that Satan won’t be able to tempt you because of your lack of self control.

They were to ask this question of the prophets and the priests at the Temple of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies:“ Should we continue to mourn and fast each summer on the anniversary of the Temple’s destruction, as we have done for so many years?”
