But the officers of Achish were unhappy about his being there.“ Isn’t this David, the king of the land?” they asked.“ Isn’t he the one the people honor with dances, singing,‘ Saul has killed his thousands, and David his ten thousands’?”

亚吉的臣仆对亚吉说：“这个大卫不是以色列的王吗？民众跳舞歌唱‘扫罗杀死千千，大卫杀死万万’，歌颂的不是他吗？”

亚吉的臣仆对亚吉说：“这不是那地的王大卫吗？那里的妇女不是指着他跳舞歌唱说：‘扫罗杀死千千，大卫杀死万万’吗？”

亚吉的臣仆对亚吉说：“这不是那地的王大卫吗？关于这人，他们不是跳舞歌唱说：‘扫罗击杀千千，大卫击杀万万’吗？”

亞吉的臣僕對亞吉說：「這不是以色列國王大衛嗎？那裏的婦女跳舞唱和，不是指着他說『掃羅殺死千千，大衛殺死萬萬』嗎？」

亞吉的臣僕對亞吉說：『這不是以色列地的王大衛麼？那裏的婦女們舞蹈的時候唱和着說：「掃羅擊殺其千千；大衛擊殺其萬萬。」不是指着這人而說的麼？』

亞吉的臣僕對亞吉說：「這不是那地的王大衛嗎？關於這人，他們不是跳舞歌唱說：『掃羅擊殺千千，大衛擊殺萬萬』嗎？」

亞吉臣僕謂王曰、此非彼國之王大衛乎、昔眾舞蹈唱和曰、掃羅殺其千千、大衛殺其萬萬、非指此人乎、

亞吉僕曰、此非彼國之王大闢乎。我憶疇昔、婦女舞蹈、唱予和汝、曰、掃羅殺人維千、大衛戮人盈萬。

亞吉之臣僕謂亞吉曰、此非敵國之王大衛乎、昔婦女舞蹈唱和曰、掃羅殺其千千、大衛殺其萬萬、所言者豈非此人乎、

But the servants of Achish said to him,“ Isn’t this David, the king of the land? Isn’t he the one they sing about in their dances:“‘ Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands’?

But the servants of Achish spoke to him. They said,“ Isn’t this David, the king of the land? Isn’t he the one the Israelites sing about when they dance? They sing,“‘ Saul has killed thousands of men. David has killed tens of thousands.’ ”

And the servants of Achish said to him,“ Is not this David the king of the land? Did they not sing to one another of him in dances,‘ Saul has struck down his thousands, and David his ten thousands’?”

But Achish’s servants said to him,“ Isn’t this David, the king of the land? Don’t they sing about him during their dances: Saul has killed his thousands, but David his tens of thousands?”

But the servants of Achish said to him,“ Is this not David, the king of the land? Did they not sing of this one as they danced, saying,‘ Saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands’?”

And the servants of Achish said to him,“ Is this not David the king of the land? Did they not sing of him to one another in dances, saying:‘ saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands’?”

And the servants of Achish said unto him, Is not this David the king of the land? did they not sing one to another of him in dances, saying, Saul hath slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands?

But Achish’s servants said to him,“ Isn’t this David, the king of the land? Don’t they sing about him during their dances: Saul has killed his thousands, but David his tens of thousands?”

And the servants of Achish said unto him,[ Is] not this David the king of the land? did they not sing one to another of him in dances, saying, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands?

The servants of Achish said to him,“ Isn’t this David, the king of the land? Isn’t he the one that they sing about when they dance, saying,‘ Saul struck down his thousands, But David his tens of thousands’?”

The servants of Achish said to him,“ Isn’t this David the king of the land? Didn’t they sing to one another about him in dances, saying,‘ Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands?’”

Isn’t this the same David about whom the women of Israel sing in their dances,‘ Saul has killed his thousands, and David his ten thousands’?”

Now the Lord said to Samuel,“ You have mourned long enough for Saul. I have rejected him as king of Israel, so fill your flask with olive oil and go to Bethlehem. Find a man named Jesse who lives there, for I have selected one of his sons to be my king.”

O God, have mercy on me, for people are hounding me. My foes attack me all day long.I am constantly hounded by those who slander me, and many are boldly attacking me.But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?They are always twisting what I say; they spend their days plotting to harm me.They come together to spy on me— watching my every step, eager to kill me.Don’t let them get away with their wickedness; in your anger, O God, bring them down.You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.My enemies will retreat when I call to you for help. This I know: God is on my side!I praise God for what he has promised; yes, I praise the Lord for what he has promised.I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?I will fulfill my vows to you, O God, and will offer a sacrifice of thanks for your help.For you have rescued me from death; you have kept my feet from slipping. So now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life giving light.

This was their song:“ Saul has killed his thousands, and David his ten thousands!”This made Saul very angry.“ What’s this?” he said.“ They credit David with ten thousands and me with only thousands. Next they’ll be making him their king!”
